Hi.... I was asked by an OH member how to find a Metabolic Physician for nutrition concerns. I wanted to share the info with you also. A listing of your state's Metabolic Physicians is available on-line through the American Board of Physician Nutrition Specialists (ABPNS) Here's the link that lists Metabolic Physicians! http://main.uab.edu/ipnec/show.asp?durki=47279 Ro

Interesting listing! Nobody in my neck of the woods though. What makes a Metabolic Physician different than a nutritionist? I mean, it sounds as though that nutrition is what they are about. Have to say that I've never heard of this specialty before. Molly

Hi, Molly!!! Missed U!!! I updated a few of the OH boards (Over 50s..., Grads..., PS..., and Diet & Nut.) with the following info. Metabolic Physicians are certified as specialists in Nutrition. I thought that the info might be helpful since our lifelong nutrition issues are so important. Here's another link that might be helpful and a brief description from the site. http://main.uab.edu/ipnec/show.asp?durki=37725 "The American Board of Physician Nutrition Specialists (ABPNS) was established by IPNEC to provide a credential that recognizes physician expertise in clinical nutrition. The ABPNS certificate is the premier comprehensive credential for physicians who wish to identify nutrition as an area of expertise. It is equally accessible to physicians with backgrounds in any of the specialties relevant to clinical nutrition..." IPNEC Intersociety Professional Nutrition Education Consortium Ro
