thanks for all the kind words and support, well good news is that they have ruled out colon cancer which is where are fears were. But they still need to do more tests to see why there is bllod in his small intestine. They will not do anymore tests now til Monday. He looks so tired. I hate that he is there but he is getting good care in ICU. Anyway for now he is in good hands and the prayers are working thanks again Kelly

Kelly I am happy to hear that they do not think it is Colon Cancer Hope they find out soon and he can come home. My mom passed away last Sept from Cancer and we dad went in a nursing home this week for Rehab and it is SO HARD so see your parents getting "older" and not how we want them to be. I am PRAYING for your dad and you! Hugs Diana

Aw, Diana...I can't believe it has almost been a year since you lost your mom. And now to see your dad in a nursing home--I feel so sad for what you are going through and like you said how we have to see our parents age. I loved spending time with my folks on the 4th but it was really a different holiday than years ago when their health was better. Praying for your dad and you too. Hugs! Molly

We are truly in the "sandwich generation"... taking care of our children and parents. Your comment about aging and changes in our parents being "So Hard" is so true. Prayer going out all around... Ro

Kelly, your dad is still in my prayers and you too. I'm glad to know they ruled out cancer and hope that next week they'll get a good treatment plan going to stop the other bleeding. Hospitals are no kind of place to get any rest, your poor dad. It is reassuring to know he is getting such good care. Keep taking care of yourself too. Hugs! Molly

Hoping that the tests locate the root of your dad's problem and that an action plan will ease your minds... as he recovers. Best wishes for today's procedures. (((Hug))) Ro

Kelly...I've not been on in a while, but just saw your post today. The exact same thing happened with my dad a couple of months ago. They never did figure out the reason, other than there is a couple of weak spots in his small intestine. Dad was in the hospital nearly 2 weeks while they ran test upon test upon test before they figured out that was the cause. They did have to give him 2 or 3 units of blood due to the loss though. He has regular follow ups just to make sure everything is how it should be. They said their not going to do anything bu****ch it, unless it happens again. I hope that he recovers quickly and things turn out as well for him as they did my dad. (((hugs)))

oh my gosh thanks so much, it was exactly what happen to my dad, had to have 4 units of blood, did all the tests and then did some of them twice. Lucky for us it was only the 7 long days and not two weeks, but it is nice to hear how your dad is doing because the whole event is totally the same so you made me feel so much better. They think because he was on naproxin for nine years for knee pain that could of caused erosion in intestine. Anyway they will keep eye on him. thanks so much for telling this Kelly
