Have a Happy 4th tomorrow! Our town BBQ is a lot of fun... lots of families attend so we get to see our buddies and chow down too! Basically, burgers and dogs... with some salads... and I don't have to cook or clean up! Hoping that the weather holds out, as it might rain midday. We'll still have fun... It's the 4th!

Hi! Happy 4th!! Am on the puter to check a recipe and then get back to the kitchen for more work. Been working in there since I got home yesterday, I think. Ok, a short break last night to sleep... lol
Crazy week...I don't even know how my weight came out, haven't had time in the mornings to weigh. My sister got some bad medical news (Graves disease w/possible thyroid tumour cancer) and it has been weird around here. Having the family over today so doing lots of cooking and cleaning.
Planning the usual bbq type stuff but also making Heather's sf oatmeal cookies for me, a sf cherry pie, some mock cauliflower 'potato' salad and lots of veggies. Should be fun! DH takes the kids to a nearby town that still allows fireworks to shoot off a bunch of money, er...fireworks.
Have a good one!
Molly
((((Hugs))))) I am sorry to hear about your sister. If it is just the graves disease that is usually pretty easy to handle, lets hope its not the tumor but if it is, its one of the "easier" cancers to deal with I think. Even if she needs her thyroid removed and gets some treatments many people live long healthy lives on a good dosage of synthroid the rest of their lives. I will say a prayer for her and keep us posted Molly.
Your planned eats sounds fantastic good for you. I am already dreading the food to be all around me today. I even thought about just bringing my own thing (Salad or something) b/c I have NOT A CLUE what is on the menu but I am pretty sure its full fat hamburgers and brats with beans and coleslaw (all fat or sugar laden) sigh... People always ? me though like "why did you bring that instead of eating this? can you not eat that?" Well sure I could but 1) might dump 2) might get the runs or 3) nothing and the scale not be friendly? I have been doing very well eating the past 8-9 days and I do not want to start a downward spiral either. These holidays, yes they are fun but WHY does it have to involve so many foods that are just NOT good for us. I am glad you can bring many dishes that are good for you.. i was told to bring a "poke" cake and nothing else to share that there is plenty of "other" stuff already.. grrrr
Have a great 4th of July Molly... yes I have to agree.. fireworks, what a big waste of money But they are pretty... Of course me being a nurse I think of all the ER traffic and potential admits. I have taken care of a few aftermaths.. its not fun.
