Hi, Mel... Looks like you're doing great this week! Are you still logging into Sparkpeople or don't you need to with the new menu-guided plan? When did you get a dog? I don't remember you mentioning it before... name and breed??? Pics??? I changed my Hot Cocoa to use Hershey's Dark and omitting the salt. It has about 38 less calories and tastes pretty good. I'm wondering if drinking the Decaf Green Tea is a good idea... I read that it boasts the metabolism, which I might not need now. Also I've been adding extra sweeteners to foods... good or bad? I don't know! Same for the cinnamon... I'm starting to question WHAT I eat, which is probably because I'm nervous about eating the best foods that I can to stay healthy. Any ideas? Eats: B: 2 oz meatloaf, 1/2 oz gravy, 2 oz mashed potatoes, 1 oz broccoli, 1 c Farina L: 5 oz pork ribs w/ BBQ sauce, 1 oz oat pretzels, 1 oz broccoli, 5.5 oz blueberries D: 2 Hebrew National FF hotdogs, 5 oz spring mix salad, 2 oz chickpeas, 1/2 oz croutons, 1 oz carrots, 1 oz tomatoes, 1 oz celery, W-B spray S: 1 nut crunch bar, 1 banana bread oatmeal, 1/3 oz Chex Mix, 1 LS Dark hot cocoa, mini popcorn, 2 SF puddings, 6 T Cool Whip calories: 1921 carbs: 253 fats: 72 sat fat: 22 protein: 87

Thanks Ro! I am doing great! Excited about it! As for the logging, I have my plan already figured out and its close everyday. I didn't write it down on here yesterday just because I forgot, oops! Here it is: Cals: 1116, fats 46, carbs 57, fiber 13, protein 120 Great tea I have read boosts metabolism but I don't know if I would stop drinking it as it has a lot of good antioxidant properties good for anyone! As for cinnamon, it helps supposedly regulate blood sugar levels and reduce belly fat. I am not sure either are bad for you and may contribute in the overall picture to your weight loss but I bet its minimal and the health benefits you get overall are probably worth it. I guess that is up to you, so hard to say. Extra sweeteners.. well that is such a controversial issue as to whether they cause health problems or not. I tend to use stevia (all natural from a plant and not chemical based) when I can otherwise I look for products with splenda (but still chemically, man made, so not sure how "good" it really is) but I try to limit where I can because well, we just don't know the longer term effects. Kinda hard to limit it when we can't do sugar very well though ya know? Just do the best u can I say when it comes to those and not overly obsess about it. Hang in there, you are doing great. Hopefully your weight loss will stop soon. What is your BMI Now? do you mind me asking?

No problem... Based on a normal range of 18.5 -24.9, my 5' 1.5" height at 131 LB is a BMI of 24.3... top of the normal range. My Body Fat Mass in April was 30.5, which is in the middle of that range. If I estimated a maximum 10LB of skin removal after PS, my BMI would be about 22.45... still normal. If I didn't have such a hollowed-out face and upper chest, including neck, collar bone, shoulders, I might not be as concerned. Since the rapid losses seemed so unusual and maintaining weight takes more effort than expected, I am glad that I had the testing. I still don't have an answer, since the CT Scan is being review and additional testing is yet to be scheduled. Either way, I believe that there is treatment in my future, as the Drs. have stressed that it is a Gyn problem and suggested a Gyn-Oncologist. I really want to start on my PS, but thing are on "hold". IF... and only IF... I need surgery, it might be a good idea to have a PS "close me", especially if he could remove some of my skin. I want to proceed with my plan, which doesn't include becoming an expert in "cancer"... Whatever treatment I need... that's what I'll focus on. I did have a PS in mind here's his stie: http://www.101plasticsurgicenter.com/default_flash.cfm The PS has a section at the top of the home page "patients of the month", which looks good. He has done reconstruction to correct what other PS have previously worked on. He operates within the same hospital as my other Drs... WLS Surgeon, Metabolic Nutritionist, and Gyn-Onc. My PCP, who is local to my area, did his residency at the same hospital... small world! What do you think...? and if any of Dec Babes see this... feel free to chime-in too. So... What's up with the DOG????

Looks like your BMI is doing just fine so that is good. I didn't realize you were only 5'1" so really that helps me understand why you have gotten into the low 130's.. Body fat loks good too. The rapid loss though might be causing that hollow look and it may "even" out over time. This happened to my husband when he got to his lowest. But he did have a bit of bounce back around this time.. so not sure if that will happen to you as well. Let us know what you find out with your testing. I have my fingers crossed for you. As for the surgery link, I will take a peek at that tonight after husband's game. I can't wait to see it. That is good that he is in the same place as your other docs, very nice. oh I have a minature doxie.. hes a "pie bald" so he had white and brown spots like a beagle but the body of a doxen. There is a preop christmas photo on my profile with him I believe. Hes 12 lbs and cute as can be but veryyyy sneaky little devil lol, he keeps me on my toes. Hes smart.
