Hey, Diana...I have the same problem with the Atkin bars and they don't even taste that good to me, except for the Double Choc. Crunch. I knew that it was a protein bar problem that you were talking about, but for me they are in the same group as cookies. I had a problems with cracker, cookies, and trail / granola bars before surgery. Little by little they are all coming back into my meals... plus all of the pretzel sticks. I really like crisp, salty, crunchy...more than sweets so cookies were always an extra. I do the same thing that Melissa does with replacing one old treat with another less fattening treat... I eat the SF dark pudding w/ Nature Valley Honey & Oat bars, which tastes close to chocolate cream pie. I eat vanilla yogurt w/ the Nature Valley Apple Crisp bars...kind of like a mild cheesecake flavor. The Atkin bars have a lot of saturated fat (like 1/2 of it) and they use up the "10"g amount that I am supposed to eat. Lately my saturated fats are hitting near 20g (I heard that up to 25g is OK for a non-Rny), but I already have an enlargement in my heart and a strong paternal history of heart disease (everyone it seems died of it)... I eat Fudgsicles a lot to get through the chocolate urges. This week I bought 2 containers of SF Cool Whip!!! WHY???
I know that it's not a big deal, but really... why can't we have some decent snacks available to us?
Last week I hit the Fritos.. of course, it was 1 oz, but it is just another way of adding in a crappy treat, which I wasn't doing before I got stressed-out. No one here bugs me about it because my face is so hollowed-out. I think that they are just glad that I am eating something. I love fruits and veggies, but I can't get the calories up to where I need them that way alone. Now, I am becoming a junkie! Ro

Crunchy Salty is my middle name..I and have realized I am replacing it with Protein bars so I am not getting anymore. I quit buying the 100 calorie packs of "stuff" as I realized I was wasting 100 calories on nothing and now I am eating 180 calorie protein bars.
You would think I would learn but....
