Well... I finally got "some" info about my CT scan results. They were sent to the wrong fax number. Since 1 of the tests from the 24-hour urine collection was not available, the lab needs another day or so. I have had a swollen feeling in my throat that I thought was from pollen, but my throat is actually 1" smaller. I'm thinking that the weight loss might be due to a thyroid problem, but I'm no Dr! I'll let the real Docs let me know what's up. I am sick of food at this point. I did stuff myself and get the scale up to 134.5, but I felt horrible. I am going to reduce the calories to the 1500 range that we agreed on earlier and see if the weight just drops-off again. I've eaten over 2200 calories on a lot of days. At least I can tell the Nut what happens at the lower range. Originally, he had mentioned that most WLS patients eat in the 1100 - 1200 calorie range 1 year out. Ro All water (about 64 oz) and supplements taken; 3 mile walk too. Do be sure and keep us posted, its rather interesting how much u can eat and not gain weight and still lose weight. Do you work out with weights at all Ro? I am telling u, that muscle burns serious calories. I haven't been able to go to the gym all this week and I am feeling the muscles getting weak, I hate that. The gym has been closed due to all the water outages. I am going to get back in the groove next week. At least I am missing it and wanting to go! So that's a good thing. Means I am establishing the habit of wanting to go once again.. yeah! if it is your thyroid that is usually an easy fix. Do you feel you have a goiter? A mass around your neck at all when you feel it? I didn't have this but I do have hypothyroidism, have for almost 10 years now. I take synthroid for it, but yours would appear to be hyperactive if anything. As you burn calories faster and your metabolism is higher, mine was the opposite. Hang in there and keep us posted sweetie. Hugs, Melissa p.s. i haven' t forgotten about the beck book, this week has just been nutty, weather is nice now and should be the rest of the week and aarons 30th birthday will be over after this weekend (been planning that as well for today/tomorrow) so I will be back with it, I promise. Hugs!

I carried 3 LB weights on 3 walks about a month ago... that's it. The PA at the Surgeon told me that I needed to work my upper body for about 15 minutes 3X / wk to start to keep bone density OK. So it's not that I'm burning up a ton of calories that way. I know that you must miss the gym... You look Buff!!! Soon enough you'll be back in the form that you want... Hope it's not a long wait. No goiter; the nurse did examine my throat in April and asked if I was ever tested for thyroid. She did not imply that she felt anything wrong and was just feeling because I had mentioned tenderness / allergy sensitivity. I did not know for sure if I've ever been tested, but did not think much of it at the time. My neighbor mentioned the hyperactive thyroid situation with me about 2 weeks ago. My mom could eat whatever she wanted and was always considered underweight. It made life a bit difficult, as she was having seconds and would mention that I shouldn't have more to eat because of my weight. DH thinks that "my true metabolism...like my mom's has finally kicked-in"; nice try. I think that stress from the Guys living with DH and I, along with their individual issues and quirks that has me feeling upset. We did give them "notice" that they have to move, but I don't see any real plans; just a lot of attitude and manipulation going around here. We had been planning to toss clutter and update the house...then everyone and their things piled-on. What a mess. As for Beck, I am still working on the beginning concepts and plan to move forward also. I'll be ready, when you are!!! Happy Birthday...Aaron... You young pup! Ro
