Hungry Girls Recipe for a Vanilla Freeze! Perfect for Summer and LOW cal/carb!
I have been tinkering around with Hungry Girls new cookbook and today I made her Vanilla Freeze recipe. Wow its good, I did change the ingredients a tad but wanted to share it with you all! I love frozen drinks in the summer but I find I am getting too much protein relying on my protein shakes to meet these needs as I get plenty from food.
Ingredients I used:
5 oz of Soy Slender Light Vanilla Soy Milk
1 tablespoon of Sugar Free Vanilla Coffee Mate Creamer (she called for fat free)
1 rounded teaspoon of decaff instant coffee
1 ounce of SF vanilla syrup (I used french vanilla, can use 1/2 ounce of vanilla and 1/2 ounce of hazelnut to make french or just plain ol' vanilla will work!)
Cup of ice cubes
optional FF whipped cream
Mix all ingredients together in a bullet or blender, that is all there is to it! Top with whip if you choose for 5 additional calories and 1 carb.
Here is the breakdown without whippage:
Cals: 80, Fats: 4, Sat Fats: 2 (from the coffee mate and the one I have is transfat free), Carbs: 5 (2 fibers) and Protein 4
So its a good mix of everything. I love it, its so yummy! Enjoy and Happy Summer!
Oh yummy...a recipe review! I have that book and have so enjoyed drooling over recipes. In fact, it did make me go out and get a package of Shiratake noodles and for the first time last week I had 'pasta' along with my family...it was fun but boy, does that stuff swell up in the pouch...be warned!
Also because of the book I bought a package of malted milk powder and am planning on experimenting with my protein shakes this summer.
