I'm Giving A Challenge!
HELLO!!!
I have read that many of us feel we have not been eating appropriately or getting water, their vitamins or exercising. SO...
Yes! I am asking all of you to join me in a challenge for better health and control of your eating habits!
Here is my challenge!
1) Log ALL your intake daily. Have a calorie limit in mine with protein, carb, fat proportions determined ahead of time and STICK to it! Log it down in your journal, fitday, whatever and also HERE. Be HONEST! By not being honest you are hurting nobody but YOURSELF. So just learn to be accountable once again. There is no better way to get back to the basics then logging it down. You may have a few days you aren't so proud of in the beginning but thats OK! Who cares, write it down anyway! OK? Share it. Eventually you will get back on track. (Helpful hint: Plan ahead for summer gatherings by knowing what is on the menu and bring your own food accordingly as you need to!)
2) Get in at least 64 oz of water. You can do crystal light in its place but remember it can cause cravings in some people.
3) Exercise at least 30 minutes each day, even it it is just a walk. Cleaning the house counts also if its vigorous cleaning!
4) Take your vitamins, meds, each and every day!
So you have FOUR things you must be accountable for.. food intake, water intake, exercise and vitamins. Hmmm.. what we ALL should be doing. Dr. Beck would love that we are doing this.. keep her happy as well
Are you in? I start back hard core doing ALL of this TOMORROW! No more excuses , I am ready to get back on track and feel better. I sat down over the weekend and figured out how I can eat and be successful and if I am short on time then I do a protein shake, whatever it takes. If you need to do shakes to rid the carb monster or just solid protein for a while then do that.. whatever you need to do to get yourself back in line.
I am here to support you! If you need the help, then come here! Come back to your family where we all found much of our own personal success along the way. Let's support each other and get down to business December babies! We are a strong team, now lets prove that to each other. Come out from hiding if you are struggling ok? It is ok. We can help each other.
((((Hugs))))
Also for #5, weigh in with us each Wednesday. I personally am gonna stop weighing everyday and go to only weighing on Wednesdays from now on.
I will also share my calorie, protein, carb, fat and fiber goals with all of you. Please share yours as well!
Calories: 1200
Fat: 45g (35%)
Carb:75g (25%)
Protein: 120g (40%)
Fiber: aim for 25g
This gives me a low to moderate ratio of carbs for me. I wanna stick under 75 grams if at all possible as carbs and me are the best of friends as far as the "munchies" are concerned. I keep my fat a tad higher to help keep me full and try to aim for good fats. My protein stays high for my muscle training. Remember this is *my* plan, you develop one that is good for you, your lifestyle and your body's needs. This is very similar to the plan I was on when I was actively losing and it worked well for me.
Hey girl! I'll try this...but I'm currently a stay at home mom and you know that means I'm bored...and the same thing happens now as it did as a pre op...when I'm bored I eat. I need to start making good decision tho. Haven't had a protein shake in forever...since at least last summer...and have been eating way too much pasta, bread, etc. Guess I need to start grocery shopping smart and logging my meals.
Hope more people join this! It might be fun! lol YAY!
Hey Lady! So glad to have you over here with us! Everyone this is Renee a good friend of mine from the main board that I invited to come over here!!! She rocks
I can imagine boredom being hard for eating. I personally just need control.. period. I can eat a lot in a sitting I feel and need to focus on more dense protein and cut out the crap. I also get hypoglycemia terrible when I am not following my good ol diet. So back on track I go..
We can do it girlie! I already logged my breakfast in fitday and gonna hit the sack (worked last night).
Will post a thread for our eats later today! Be on the lookout! Have a great monday! Glad you are here with us!

Melissa, I like the "back on track" plan that you've so kindly outlined for us.
Really Helpful!
Weighing food with a digital scale becomes pretty automatic quickly. Grab a plate / bowl, the scale, figure out the best amount, then once it's within a healthy range... enjoy w/o guilt.
Basically, make better substitutes or eat less of a particular food rather than "just allowing overeating to just happen" as in the past.
I monitor how balanced my Eats are throughout the day by using the pie chart on the "printable" nutrition section of SparkPeople. It's found under "See Today's Full Report". I keep the % of proteins and the fats higher than SparkPeople recommend.

Hi Melissa, thanks for always being a stong force on this board. I unfortunately am not much of a logger online. I just don't have the time. I will however starting tomorrow a little paper log on the fridge to log my water and meals, I will also start measuring my meals. However, lately since my PS my meals have been small, small, small. I think the binder I am wearing has something to do with it.
Also, stariting tonight I am going to start doing some arm weights and walks. I have not excercised since my PS and feel that if I do some walking it will bring down the last of the swelling. Up until now I have been too weak to excercise.
Oh and get on a regular schedule of my suppliments again. With all the antibiotics and pain meds (almost 75 percocet) which I am officially off of. I got sidetracked on my pain meds.
So that is what I can promise to do......and need to do for myself.
Thanks so much sweetie for the motivation!!!!
Love ya, Erin
