What did you eat and how did you move--Saturday
Hi December family! Hope you had a wonderful Saturday and got outside in the sunshine, well I hope you had sunshine too. It was so great getting outside today and am planning on doing it again tomorrow. Yard work galore! Boy, will I ever be sore but I must have burned a lot of calories. About nine roses are all pruned and cleaned up now...only around 100 to go!
Being outside and working hard makes it easier to eat right. You are going to see my carbs are sky high but this time they are mostly fruit carbs so yeah me!

The plan for tomorrow is more yardwork and prob. similar food except maybe I'll avoid the cereal snack and have a salad instead. Got some really nice looking salad mix at Costco today (and two more boxes of strawberries!). Going to try to get some chocoholic baking done for me too now that I have my delish Starbucks sf mocha syrup. Mmmm....
Have a great evening and post your eats before you forget them!
Big hugs!!!
Molly
I don't have the numbers but I'll list what I ate since I have a minute.
8 oz decaf coffee w/cream
atkins protein bar
1 tbsp peanut butter
1 banana
boca burger w/cheese on rye
1/4 cup salad w/1 tsp light ranch
1 banana
1/2 cup peanut butter ice cream (my bad choice for the day)
1/2 cup grapes
16 oz (total) skim milk
I did TERRIBLE when it came to protein intake...and the ice cream was to make up for lack of calories during the day to add to my breast milk. I still didn't come close, and nutritionally lacking...BUT I will try to do better tomorrow. Sydnie's been at my breast most of the day, making it very difficult to get ANYTHING done. *sigh*
Ah, memories! Thank you for bringing to mind the days when Elizabeth was nursing and it seemed all I did all day long was feed her. I jokingly referred to myself as the milk bar or mom-on-tap. Are you able to keep up your fluid intake still even though you have been 'connected' all day? I hope so! Get those guys of yours trained to do fluid and food runs for you while you are nursing.
Molly
LOL...mine is "dairy cow". I wasn't as good about getting my fluids in the past couple of days, but it wasn't horribly low. They're pretty good about doing the running for me. I just happened to be alone most of the day. Now...if I could just manage a way for them to do potty runs for me, I'd be all set!

Hey Ro, I see you ate 'salad with spray'. Is that the Wishbone Salad Spritzers by any chance? This evening I got hungry and had a big (and I mean BIG) dish of mixed baby greens with salad spray on it and thought it tasted really sweet for only 10 calories so I checked the label...the second ingredient is high fructose corn syrup!!!! ARGH!!! We can't get away from that stuff.
All three of my bottles of it went down the sink tonight. I allow myself a range of sugary stuff but when hfcs is on the label *that* isn't going in my mouth. There are too many other sugar types that don't come with the added punch of increasing my already-bad sugar cravings.
Just thought I'd pass that along in case you were using the same brand and in case you are concerned about that ingredient too.
Molly
btw...where are the pumpernickel pretzels from and are they good?

Molly... I never even read the labels on the Wishbone Sprays! I am hooked on the Asian flavor and spray it on shrimp etc. Second favorite is the balsamic. I didn't have a bad reaction to them, but I have gone through several bottles so it must be addictive in some way. What is an option that you use to these sprays? Thanks for the hfcs update!
Snyder's of Hanover makes the pumperknickle & onion pretzel sticks. They also make honey wheat sticks, which are milder tasting. I really like the honey mustard & onion PIECES; not the Nibblers... more flavor, but they are a binge food for me. I tried their buffalo wing pieces and at first liked them, but since that they just taste like chemicals to me.
I know that you'll want to check the ingredients on these...sugar is listed and maltodextrin (is that a sugar?)... but now the bad news for you, Molly, the bag says that the products are made in a facility that handles Peanut Butter... Maybe going on their website will give you more info. I really like them because I crave CRUNCH over sweets.
Still having a weight drop problem... DH got on the scale to see if it was just giving bad readings (low batteries), but he's still the same weight. I weighed 135 on Tuesday and now weigh 130 lb. I am eating a lot more to try to stop this, but it is the same thing that happened after we drove to FL. I dropped 8.5 lb after the traveling then another 1.5 -2 in FL. I called the PA about the 8.5 # right away because I thought it was because they changed my suppliments. She said, "It's OK...yada..yada"
The NUT has scheduled other tests, including a pre-albumin (sp?... protein?) test to see why I lost that Florida weight. Now it's happening again... down about 5 lbs in 5 days, but this time I don't have any "back-up weight" so I am really not happy about the loss. I have 1 1/2 weeks until the Labs are in, but think that I should call the NUT. DH said that the NUT won't have any results... or real answer then... so I should just eat, eat, eat.

We have some of those Hanover products at our military comissary, I'll look for the pumpernickle ones. Thank you for the warning but I'm not that sensitive, in fact I have been able to eat PB2 in reasonable amounts so I'm wondering if it is something to do with the peanut fat that is the biggest trigger. ?? Of course, there are certain times of the month I absolutely avoid nuts altogether just to be safe and it usually helps.
Hope you get the weight problem under control. It must be frustrating but isn't it a bit nice too knowing you can eat what you want? I'm such a chow hound that it sounds like heaven to me. But still, I'm sorry it is distressing you. Hugs!
Don't know what to do about the sprays. I thought maybe we could try to make our own but don't know if I feel like putting that kind of time into a salad dressing. I need to add fats to my diet anyway so I should just force myself into using regular salad dressing again. But, it is a mental battle. Odd how I have no trouble justifying a bazillion extra carbs in the day but when it comes to adding fat i get awfully stubborn.
Have a nice evening!

Glad that you can eat the pretzels; everyone here loves them.
I'll see how adding calories helps with the weight loss problem. It did level-off last time, but I didn't gain any of the weight back. If it's going to come off and I can't stop it then once it levels-off... I'm going to eat enough until I regain it. Just hoping that the labs don't show some other problem, but knowing is much better... then I can deal with it... and do whatever possible. Sure that the NUT will have a plan for me.
I measure regular salad dressing; 1 - 2 Tablespoons and mix it around. I'm way too lazy to spend any time on making a spray. DH was glad that you mentioned the hfcs too. Thanks again.
