At Support Group, the Program Leader felt that the protein levels that I mentioned on the above link were too low... which of course THEY ARE as the figures are for people who are non-WLS. We discussed that I was waiting for pre-albumin results. I was interested in the Maine University calculator, as I've heard that RNYs can have up to a 50% malabsorption rate of protein. If my average 65g of protein was not being fully absorbed then I'd fall in the low normal area. If absorbed OK, then it should be in a healthy range.... hopefully. Can't wait to get the results of the Labs back. Nut is concerned about my Tues., 4/8 weight, but doesn't know that I lost an additional 5 LBs by Sat., 4/12. Since then I've increased another 400 calories and added about another 10g of protein per day. I had the worse PMS ever... Everyone Else IS Wrong Kind!!! I'M OUT of HERE Kind! Once the hormones calmed-down, I was able to rejoin the family again. Just on another note, the topic at Support Group was "Healthy Snacks". The Dietician review product labels and then concluded by suggesting that our group look for foods that were less processed... like Grandma would have made... Actually, it was a lot more informational than I've mentioned here, but that's the drift. PS: I enjoyed the Oatmeal Raisin Cookies from our local Shop-Rite that are made with unbleached wheat flour and have sugar listed pretty far down the label... about 125 calories for 1 oz. So with all of this said... the link is for the average non-WLS person. Ro
