at goal but at a cost

Well fellow wls friends I am at goal 160 lbs, however my marriage is a wreck my husband left last night and it's pretty bad. I am actually ok with us splitting up however we have kids, dogs, and a mortgage so it's very sticky... Miss you guys will try and come on here more often.....Hugs, Erin

Oh Erin, I'm so sorry to hear this sad news. Glad that you are ok with it though, that will help you get the kids through it better. Hang in there and don't let the stress of it all undo your hard work. Hugs!!!!! Molly

I want to reach through this computer right now and hug you.. bless your heart... Something my husband warned me about was how the dynamics change after WLS with couples. Being he had the surgery we talked long and hard about the emotional roller coaster personally I would go through and also how it affects marriages. I am sorry to see this Erin.. but if it is what is best for you and your children then you must do it.. This postop life requires a level of sanity to maintain and remain on path to a healthy lifestyle, not only physically but mentally also. As much as I am sure its paining you now I hope later it all works out for the best. If you ever need an ear, I am just a phone call away and I am always here to listen.. I wish you nothing but the best my friend.. And btw.. congrats on getting to goal! Be strong and confident in your life.. sounds like you are making a decision that is right for you when you said you were ok with it. I am praying for you.. hugging you close. love you..

SAY IT AIN'T SO.... Aw, Erin.... I wish that you and the others who are at the marriage "crossroads" were heading down another path... with your hubbies. It does seem that WLS stresses marriages.
