sunbathing.........

I was just wondering how sunbathing is going to affect my recovery after a hernia repair and TT a month ago? I am under instructions from surgeon to wear a binder 24 hrs for 3 months...can I take it off for a couple of hours to go sunbathing this weekend? What about the effect of the sun on my scar? I am not planning on exposing the scar to the sun but I was just wondering if the heat will affect it? The wheather is just gorgeous and I am just dying to get tanned and wear my new bikini.. Beatriz, you'd better ask your PS about that. When i had ps years ago I was warned to stay out of the sun for 6 months or it could make my scars worse. (They are so bad I don't see how they could have been worse!) I scar badly for a caucasian, i make keloids so they never look nice even after tanning...they just stay either red or white (depending on how old they are) and ugly. I hope you scar much, much prettier! It is always amazing to see how some people totally heal up with little to no scarring, makes me so envious! Hope you are one of those. Molly

I also scar pretty bad and that's why I am seeking advice...I posted to the PS Board but no luck there either. Will call the PS and ask him, did not want to do it but I have no other choice...good friday is coming up and I always go to the pool on good friday, do not want to brak the tradition now. Bea
