Monday...Eats and Moves!
So we begin another healthy week, right? If we are going into this with PMS and other things bugging us at least we can suffer together. So post how you did and if you were able to get in some exercise today too!
I had 8 hours of my hard-physical day at work today followed by physical therapy. Looking forward to a shorter day tomorrow and some treadmill time! Here's eats:
--nf, sf soy latte
1) Oh Yeah! chocolate protein bar
2) homemade chocolate tvp protein bar
3) 1/2 cup 0% Fage, 1/2 cup Kashi Go Lean, 1 Spinach-Feta Bite (Eggface/Michelle's recipe)
4) 2 portobello's topped w/ 1 oz. feta, another 'bite', 1/2 another homemade protein bar
5) the other half of the bar
6) 1 cup Special K Protein Plus cereal, 1/4 cup lactose-free nf milk
7) 1/2 cup caulitators, 4 oz. chicken marsala

Now that I'm actually tracking my fiber it isn't as good as I thought but not so bad. This doesn't include the two supplements I take which add up to 13 gr. For a day when I'm usually a major pig this hasn't been too bad, really. A LOT of chocolate. In fact, I'm going to have some chocolate/raspberry herbal tea this evening for 'dessert'. Yumm!
How did you do?????

I have been keeping things really simple lately. My eating plan begins on Sunday and end Saturday. Just trying to keep a short goal so I can stay on track. I need this to keep focused. I need this to have mini successes.
Have to ask... Is anyone still having "chills"? Cold hands? etc...
I'm having a big problem keeping warm. Eating seems to affect it, especially if I've had something from cold / cool; rather than a heated meal. In general, I am too cold and it seems to last most of the day and into the night (still using a heated blanket).

Hi, Mel!
So WHY....???? Why are we freezing?????? Originally, I heard that this freezing feeling was a 1 year thing to some patients. After the year was up, I was told that it could go up to 2 years. Besides the drop in outdoor temps or being in A/C, eating cold food... and just eating something can start my hands to become cold. It's not everyday, but it makes me really uncomfortable. I am drinking hot decaf tea and using a heated blanket in addition to bundling-up. A few times I stood under ho****er to stop the chill. How bad are you freezing? Any warm-up ideas to share????

I wish I knew.. these are the theories I have heard..
1) we have lost a lot of insulation so we are gonna be cold because of that reason.
2) we aren't eating a lot so we aren't meeting our metabolic rates in a lot of ways.
I donno really.. its miserable. I, like Molly, have to drink warm drinks to warm up, my hands and fingers are frozen solid! I hate that feeling It's strange isn't it? Me living in northern Iowa near the Minnesota border has been just crazy miserably cold this winter (how whiney am I?) I hope the spring gets here soon, I cannot wait! Then BRING ON SUMMER!
Raising hand here too, Ro. Do you get short bursts of heat followed by more cold? I'll go through the whole day being cold except warming up with a hot cup of tea or a meal and then right before bed sometimes my hands and feet will get really, really hot. By the time I go to bed they are ice cubes again and I'm wearing flannel and socks. What a sexy mama that makes me!
