Hello My Friends
Sorry that I have been missing - I am a working fool...we are going through a reorganization and it is like being a brand new employee all over again.....after 11 years to feel this LOST - is so disheartening.... but this too shall pass.
I have great news! My DH has decided he wants to eat healthfully and exercise! My doctor not only provides surgical options - she also provides medically supervised plans and my DH signed up last friday! He and i had an appt on Saturday with a trainer.... and today will be our first day of going after work to the GYM! He and i carpool to work and have decided that we are more likely to go if we 1) go together 2) go straight from work! I am so proud of him. He is 56 and has 1 heart attack under his belt- he quit smoking 6 months ago - and now is ready to tackle the weight. I never EVER said a word to him about his weight (since we all know how that feels)- I dont CARE how much he weighs i care about his health...that is it. He is 17 years older that me so i know he will most likely die before me --but I dont want it to be tomorrow!
Hope you are all doing well.......i am keeping up with the goings on of all of you - Congrats to Shawn and baby Sidney (sp) --and Terisa you are an angel! Miss you all and hope that things around here get back to normal ---
Hi Dawn! Nice to see you. That is such wonderful news about your husband. Please keep us up to date on his progress. I worry about my husband too. Unfortunately, I have had to accept that I will be a young widow. It is sad especially because we have two young babies. I am not an angel, I am the lucky one that I was able to be there and that Shawn allowed me to share such a special time with her.
Keep up the great work to the both of you!! ~ Terisa
Hi Dawn! How nice to see you on the mb again and congratulations on the news about your husband. Woohoo!!! I hope this is the beginning of many, many healthy happy years together. Let us know how the new eating and exercising plan goes and any great tips you may have for the rest of us on getting our spouses on the health train too.

Hi Beautiful, Oh I have missed you! I am so glad to see you posting!!! I hope all is well with you. Sounds like husband is in a good place right now with wanting to jump on the healthy band wagon.. food for him and good for you for inspiring him! I am so proud of you and him!!! Congrats, that has to feel motivating!!!
I have my husband on my gym membership.. uhm I think he has gone twice.. he hates "organized" fitness plans.. he likes sports and just being active in general.. coaching, refereeing is more up his alley. He is the varsity softball coach at the highschool here in town and also refs basketball in the winter and used to umpire softball before he decided to apply for the school coaching position. So he stays active in other ways.. Of course he also had RNY 6 years ago and this helps to keep his weight "manageable" even if he doesn't follow the rules that well. I am pretty proud of him.. now that it is getting harder to follow "the plan" the further we go out, I have to say in all respects he does pretty darn well.. he sure isn't grazing as much as I thought he was.. lol. Interesting when life changes and puts u down a different path and u recognize things and perspectives differently.
Anyway.. so glad you are doing well!!! Keep us posted on you and your husband and all your physical progress with this new program.. EXCITING!!!
Hugs!
Melissa
