I have not reached goal yet however alot of people fluctuate like 5lbs on the scale try watching your carbs i have been watching my carbs and in 4 days i dropped 7lbs so try that. Also this is the RNY board you may check the lapband board to see if they have any suggestions for you

Oh duh, I totally misread your post too. Sorry! Have you been entering your daily food intake in an online journal like Sparkpeople.com or Fitday.com? If not, give those a try to see where your calories are coming from and where you could increase safely without worrying about too much of a possible gain. If possible, I'd stick with increasing whole grains and still keeping up your good, lean proteins. No sense going back to the types of carbs that will just make you want things that are surefire weight-inducers. When my surgeon wanted me to slow down my weight loss he also told me to increase my fat intake. I tend to be rather fat phobic so that issue has been tough for me. It is so much easier for me to increase carbs than to put a pat of margarine on food. Glad to have another December surgery family member here, hope you will stay with us! Molly

Hijack! How is it going, Rachel? Did you finish up the Five Day Pouch Test? What did you think of the whole experience? I read that you are going to do it with your mom, good for you!!!! I can't believe what a difference it made in my head. The help on the scale was nice, too, but I am more pleased with it making me want to eat proteins again and less carbs. Whew, I NEEDED that!!!! Have a great Sunday! I've got to quit having fun here with you all and get on the treadmill. Molly

Don't worry about being a different surgery type, we started out on this board with all types but have lost a lot of bandsters and vbg folks over time. The RNY board is a different one altogether. I'm definitely having a hard time staying at a steady goal weight. It is so hard finding the right balance in my diet! I'd try going back to more of your lean proteins and making sure you are following your doctors rules. Are you drinking with your meals? That would make a difference for sure. How is it going with exercise? Are you keeping up with that or could you do better? I think that no matter what type surgery any of us have had we all have to face facts and realize that maintaining our losses is going to take effort. All the people who think any of us took the easy way out are just plain crazy! Good luck! Molly

if you are losing to fast then you may need to have fluid removed. Have you talked to your surgeon to see if that will help?

Tara, I noticed that there is a post on the Diet and Nutrition Board about your subject. The Registered Dietician will probably give an answer tonight or tomorrow so you might want to check the link out.
