Quick update
Hi all. Boy do I miss you guys. Anyway, I thought I'd do a quick update in case anyone was wondering.
I've just completed my 3rd iron infusion and have 2 more scheduled...Friday and Monday. Doc called me yesterday not liking my numbers and sent me for a non stress test today to see how the baby is. I have an appt. with her tomorrow to go over what we're going to do about this. Apparently the baby is sucking every last bit of iron out of my blood and my hematacrit is plummeting as well. We're discussing induction, possibly as soon as next week. SOOOOO...having all that going on, I'm scrambling around trying to get everything set here. Besides the fact that I'm purely exhausted from having to do all that, daily appts. for one thing or another, and plain lack of iron. Erik as of today has taken an FMLA leave because now I'm not allowed to drive. Because of lack of iron, doc says it's quite possible for me to pass out at any given time and well...driving is too dangerous for that reason. *sigh* Honestly, I'm glad to have the break.
Anyway, that's all for me for now. I'll let you all know what happens (if anything) tomorrow and where we stand as far as induction. Hope everyone is having a great week!!
Hugs!
Hi Shawn.. you poor thing.. what kind of iron were you taking before your infusions? This seems to be a problem for many postops and I would imagine being pregnant just makes these occur even quicker for some like yourself. So sorry to hear you are going through this sweetie. I am glad you are getting the infusions and that Eric is taking steps to help you out. You need it right now. I agree with the doc on you not driving.. sounds like you are really low hun and I hope it gets up soon. How is your hemoglobin and hematocrit? Have they discussed blood transfusions as well post delivery?
Hang in there sweetie.. we are here for you and can't wait to have our first december bundle of joy! (I am so excited!) Take it easy, relax and soon you will be feeling better.. hang in there!
HUGS!
Sorry to hear you are having to scramble at the last minute like this. But it is great that your doctor is watching your levels so closely, must make you feel good for your little girl's health and yours too.
Can't wait to hear another update and so glad you are able to get a little bit of a break.
Molly
