My surgery

Hello!!!!!! Well, I had the hernia repair and panni removal on tuesday and was able to come home on Wed afternoon. Surgery went extremely well, the hernia was big and the doctor repaired it. The panni removal was done nicely since I only have one big scar from side to side which I should able to hide under my bikini. So far, the first couple of days were the hardest b/c of the work they did to repair the hernia, that's were it hurts the most. I took percozet and it did wonders. I am still taking it but it seems that I do not need it so much anymore. I was left with two drains which I hope come out on Wed when I go see the Doc for a surgery follow up. They are not painful but they are kind of gross and in the way all the time---can't wait to get rid of them. Ever since I came home I have spend most of my time on the reclyner and it's a lifesaver in this type of situations, thanks goodness I have it my room in front of the TV b/c I spend all the day there and all night. Surprisingly but I do sleep pretty well on it. The only thing I am not able to right now is to stand up straight, they tell me it takes about 10 days to be able to do so. This so worth it!!!!!!!!!

Oh I am so glad to hear you are doing well Beatriz, we were all worried about you and hoped to hear good news when you returned to the boards. Take it easy and each day should get better.. the drains make you not feel human.. soon they will be out and you will feel human all over again. You are doing terrific and I am so proud of you.. I can't wait to be in your shoes one day (well not with pain) but ya know what I mean! Keep on updating as you can! Yeah for you! *hugs* Melissa

Yes, I am doing much better each day. I am taking less pain medication now and feeling much better. Can't wait to get the drains out and take a shower and feel human again. Do not worry too much about the pain, it was pretty bad for about 3 days and after that is less and less, however, the results are fantastic. Take Care, Beatriz

Thanks Molly I am also very happy that the surgery went well. The recover has been excellent too and I am getting plenty of rest eventhough sometimes I get restless but there is not much I can do so I am taking it easy and letting DH do all the work.....

Diana, I was so miserable at the hospital that I came home asap eventhough they were not planning on keeping me there for much longer. Bea

I am so happy to hear things went well. Congrats! I totally understand the standing up straight thing. I am 6 weeks out now and do pretty well, however I still have problems with it toward the evening. I did put up some new pics. I don't know if you saw them or not....I am still very swollen with seromas, so .......no flat tummy yet...soon though I am sure!

six weeks of this? it seems too much. For me the worst part is not being able to stand up straight, and the drains are a pain too. I only have two drains and I sure the doc takes them put when I see him on Wed.
