Woohoo...here we go another weekend on it's way! Hope you had a nice Friday and did some healthy eating and exercising. I ran out of time to get on my treadmill but did have four hours of moves at work today so it was something. Today was day four on the Five Day Pouch Test and here's what I ate: --nf, sf soy latte 1) 6 turkey meatballs 2) 6 turkey meatballs 3) 6 turkey meatballs (see a pattern here? ha!) 4) 6 turkey meatballs 1 little cauliflower floret (heaven!) --another nf, sf soy latte 5) diet cocoa and 1 scoop nectar latte cappuccino calories: 869 carbs: 33 fats: 27 protein: 114 There is a lot of sodium in the meatballs so tonight I made a batch of homemade meatballs and they taste yummy! Looking forward to eating them when the test is over...basically I took one pound of low-fat ground white meat turkey, 1 cup fiber cereal (psyllium and oat bran), 1 egg, about 1/3 cup lf mayo, 2-3 T lite soy sauce, Mrs. Dash chicken seasoning, onion powder and about 2 tab. flaxseeds. I tried to grind the flaxseeds with the cereal but they didn't break down too well so they may not be much benefit. Still...it tastes yummy and is soft! See you tomorrow, I hope! I am up waaaay too late and should get to bed.

Wow ya did great Molly!!! I am so proud of you! I didn't do near as good and got off plan yesterday Husband told me we were going to some "boy scout" meeting 3 hours away (I had known about it for about a week) he has a new job being a field executive for them and has to go to these things sometimes. Well we get there and its not a boy scout thing at all.. its a Sarah Evans concert! YEAH!!! We had a blast! I just love her!!!!!!!!!!!!! Of course that meant popcorn for Melissa (so bad I know! and then he took me to pancheros for a late after concert dinner.. its like Chipoltle.. ugh.. it was so good but let me tell ya.. so off plan and my sugar dropped last night and I have gas that could peel paint off walls! So I have no idea on totals.. but I think Monday I am gonna do liquids again.. just because I felt so good doing it for a couple days. I may start making Mon/Tues liquid days, do u think that is bad? I sleep most of mondays anyway and tuesdays I am usually buzzing around so busy doing things and running errands/going to the gym that it makes grabbing some EAS's easy and i may do a bar before the gym.. but it gets me off to a good start for the week.. I may just try it for a couple weeks. I find that the pouch test is great but once I get to days 3-5 i get confused on the rules... I am such a rule follower and days 1-2 are easy b/c its basically shakes, soups, broth, jello.. easy to follow.. its like the more variety I am allowed the more I analyze and try to read into the "rules".. does that make sense? Your meatballs sound fabulous, I may try those this week sometime. I think I might have some rebound weight gain from last night and then b/c i had to treat low blood sugar.. cals galore but at least I am more back on track then I was before, easy to get back on now.. I have my salads and meat packed for tonight and tomorrow night Have a great weekend!

Wow, what a great surprise! Your honey is such a sweetheart. Glad you had a terriffic time and don't worry about the food plan. It isn't like this is something your doctor ordered, after all. Sorry to hear about the blood sugars. Hope that you will be able to get them regulated in the future. I love your idea of the two liquid days. Either great minds think alike or this test makes us all think that we'd like to incorporate just parts of it in our regular lives. In the past 9 years I've done that every so often too and it feels good. I've also thought that pure meat days would be a good idea every so often too. It would have to be by my own rules though, like you, I found their rules to be a bit murky for 3-5. They tell you all the meat you want and only meat and then when you see them posting they had sf pudding for snacks it doesn't make sense. So glad to be finishing this today, I am not enjoying this last day. I'm really craving veggies BAD. The cooked cauliflower in the fridge is calling my name as strongly as any chocolate ever has. LOL Went to the military commissary yesterday and got some Louis Rich Turkey sausage so am having patties of that today. Bo-ring! Mike asked me today how often I 'had' to do this test and seemed relieved to know it wasn't going to be a full-time thing. Tomorrow it is going to be really hard not to have a sf fudgesicle but I'll try. Definitely having cottage cheese pancakes for breakfast, though! Woohoo!!!

Hola Molly you had a great day today your numbers are looking fantastic. As for me I did most of the shopping tonight to start my pouch test on monday and i did have a question and did notice where things were unclear w/the pudding snacks and i was wondering if after days 1-2 you could still drink protein shakes i am probably overlooking it oh well perhaps i will sign in on the MB and get some insight. I am trying the EAS shakes i went to walmart and i got the chocolate, strawberry and vanilla so i will give them a try i thought it was be neat to try and make an iced french vanilla cappiccino out of the vanilla shakes and the starbucks strawberry frappiccino anyways Monday is my start day i am so excited i want to start tomorrow but i dont have everything yet and i dont want anything to through me off. Well I am exhausted it time for

I'll have to re-read my Sparkpeople log but I think the only day I didn't have a protein shake was on day five. That day I really tried hard to make it meat-only for the full effect. Well, er...meat only in the aspect that I did allow myself some soy lattes. Did you get the EAS shakes in ready-to-drink or is it the powdered stuff? I love having both on hand. Off to Wally World for a little celebratory shopping!
