Five Day Pouch Test Bump Up
Glad it worked well for you!
I am really a bit worried/disappointed with day three. So far today I've had four eggs and a 3 oz. pouch of tuna ....still have the headache! (the half apple didn't help last night) And! Hungrier today than before. The first egg was early a.m. before leaving for work and it was sort of sautee'd and made me nauseous. I don't eat real eggs very often anymore, usually just egg beaters. This was gross! And I had to eat breath mints at work after the hard boiled eggs to get the taste out of my mouth. Also have had an Isopure and a nectar latte cappucino/cocoa too. So my protein will be really high.
Tonight is support group and Shakeira from the RNY board is going to ride with me so I have to do some mad housecleaning...it is going to be a struggle. I'm feeling really whiney...the headache, tendonitis in my 'good' arm, the arthritis in my knee. Don't listen to me, I'm just a pity party on legs. Don't think I'll have time to cook myself anything proper for supper, I may just have another pouch of tuna and another (ugh) egg. One good thing, this has totally cured me of any real egg cravings I've had in the past year. LOL!
Can't believe that the tuna (3 oz. pouch!) didn't make me feel satiated. I didn't use more than 1 tab. salsa with it either because I was afraid to make it into a slider. I could have eaten more after the egg too but the 15 minutes was up so I quit. If nothing else is accomplished with this test at least it proves to me I can regain a little self-control. That is a precious gift!
Already have some chicken cooked for day five I wonder if I should just skip straight ahead to that in order to feel something in my pouch. This is getting me down. I had hopes of having the same reactions as you and everybody else with it.
Please forgive me for being such a wet rag, I'm sure it is just stress and not feeling 100%. I'm definitely not giving up on my test! Tomorrow is a late/short day at work so I can come home and kick some calorie butt on my treadmill. Can't wait...that should do something wonderful don't you think?
Aw Molly.. hug hugs hugs... I am sorry you aren't feeling like this test is showing you the same results, that would be rather frustrating to me also. Tomorrow is a firmer day with protein so just hang in there.. do u like ground turkey sausage or ground turkey/beef? I would imagine this will fill you up, tuna never has filled me up as well as firmer meats. One egg did not give me a feeling of fullness either honestly..even boiled when I snacked on it today.
Hang in there.. its gonna get better.. I may have to have a shake also.. going from all sweets to all meat its like ACK.. jello something? I need something sweet.. worst case I do a shake or jello.
Let me know how support group goes and hang in there.. I hope you feel better soon sweetie...
Melissa, big hugs and thanks! I'm so sorry to have vented like that and been so negative. I really appreciate your opinions about the tuna and eggs, that was so helpful. For my 'dinner' I had a half-cup of eggbeaters and a sprinkle of parmesan cheese. Not filling, but low-cal and good protein. And then later I had a sf snackpack pudding. I know just what you mean about needing something sweet! I think this was going off-plan tho...but it is hard to tell from reading 'the neighborhood'. Some of the regulars who do this post their 3-5 day eats and include some softer foods for their snacks. I'm just too literal, I think I just need to stick to it the best I can and not worry.
I love ground turkey, hadn't thought of that! Before I head out tonight i'll make a trip out to the freezer to see if I have any and if not i'll stop by a grocery store this evening. If I get tired or run out of time do you think it would be acceptable to sub a bocca burger? They used to always get stuck as if they were made out of meat so I wonder if they'd accomplish that firmer-texture thing too? I know I have some of them in the freezer. (And here Ms. Anal thought she was so prepared!)
Turns out Shakeira got the date wrong and can't make it tonight, that makes me sad. I haven't seen her 'in person' since her surgery and she just hit the 100# mark recently. Well, hopefully it will work out next month. At least my house got all tidied up.
Ok, I'd better get my eats and moves posted next! You are the best, thank you for being here for me and everybody!
