A snowy, wintry hello to you all from Spokane, Wa.! It began coming down in earnest today around noon and here it is nearly 9 p.m. and hasn't let up all day. How wonderful to be at home now with no more meetings and not have to worry about driving until Monday morning. Hope by this time of day everybody in our Dec. family is safely tucked in at home and having a nice evening. I got in some great moves today! We assembled the new treadmill and it is HUGE! Wow, do I love it already. Of course the newness will wear off and I'm sure it will be an annoying chore to have to exercise soon but it was fun getting in my workout today. Haven't tried any of the preset programs yet, I was still messing around with the console and learning the basics of it. Our last treadmill was manual and awful so this one is a dream to use. Not being a gym rat at heart, I am so happy to have a treadmill at home. Eats have been a bit of a struggle today, I'm having huge appetite issues and have tried my best to keep busy and out of the food but have lost the fight several times. Here's the totals: --nf, sf soy latte 1) cottage cheese pancakes, 1/2 cup cooked apples, 1/4 cup sf syrup, 2 slices turkey bacon 2) GNC Cinnamon Bun bar 3) 2 PK's pumpkin protein muffins, 2 T ff 'whip' 4) 1 chicken thigh, 1 mozz. stick 5) 1 sf mini kettle corn bag 6) 2- 35 cal. sf. popsicles 7) 1/2 DEEP FRIED Mandu (cooking stuff for the guys to get rid of and decided to risk eating half of ONE) calories: 1010 carbs: 103 fats: 29 protein: 85 Today I did big cooking whi*****luded a huge vat of all-veggie soup for me and a spinach no-noodle lasagne so tomorrow I'll have more veggies in my diet to report. Have a good evening, see you tomorrow. Wonder if I'll be sore from the workout???

Good morning! It's 9 am in Germany now and I am ready to go out and start my day, but wanted to check in here first. I finished my 5 days pouch test yesterday. I am so surprised that I did it and finished it. I kept it very stricked, meaning only firm solids on the firm solid days, etc. Results: I am out of THE 180's and 3 pounds lighter, today 178. It's only 3 lbs gone, but in a week, that's good, and after 3 months in the 180-183 game...I will never go back there again!! Lessons learned with the pouch test: Stay away from white bad carbs!! This was my mantra for so long, then I started adding a little sf cookie here, a little pita chips or mini pringles there... just one plain pancake for brunch.. and many white carbs were being so part of my daily life and stuck in this weight for 3 months. 5 days without them made me realise how much I was getting addicted to them already! The next lesson learned was on day 4 when I came home for lunch. I stood in front of the open refrigerator, like I have done sooooo many times before, but I didn't want to eat anything, because it was going to feel unconfortable to the pouch. I forced myself to have ground turkey with onions, and salt & pepper...It was good, but I couldn't even finish the prescribed amount of a cup, before the pouch told me, begged me to stop eating! It used to be like that a year ago, I was afraid of eating.... boy, have I forgotten the fear and settle for comfortable food or 'sliders", like they are called in the 5dpt... So today, day 6, I am going to try to remember why I started this journey and that I am still in this journey and keep my consumption of white carbs to a minimum, eat mainly proteins, keep drinking my water, and move my body!! Thank you for giving me a place to put this feelings down. Let's have agreat Sunday and a fabulous week!!

Brenda, Congratulations on completing your pouch test! Woohoo!!! Getting that kind of results is what it is all about from what I've read about it. Thank you so much for sharing it with us here, it is really good to read about other's experiences. Hope your Sunday was great and have a great week ahead! I am eating PILLS... I have been having a really hard time adjusting to this amount of pills! I try to keep things straight, but it is confusing. My sorter is a "joke". It seems like I am taking pills all day... which I am. DH is the one who helps with the lab info and update info. I feel overwhelmed... and he "reminds" me (auuggghhh) to "take" this now... I am angry... or have PMS... or feel down...

Oh poor Ro....I'm so sorry you are on a pill diet. It must feel like that is all you do now in order to get your lab values where you want them. Darn, I wish I could give you a hug! Here's a cyber hug for you instead: {{{{{{{{{{}}}}}}}}}} Molly

Ro - Pills are NO FUN and it sucks that you have to take so many. It does sound like it can be very confusing and just a pain in the you know what! I am thinking of you and picturing you taking each pill but the labels say...1 for strength, 1 for wisdom, 1 for happiness and 1 for beauty....hmmm - I better go take some too!!!! Thinking of you, Rebecca

Mandu is a Korean dumpling-sort of thing that looks like a potsticker. It has onions, cabbage, celophane noodles, pork and some other things I can't remember. It tastes best deep fried although it can be steamed, my guys like it best fried naturally. I don't normally eat much fruit except when it is in season. As soon as the strawberries start rolling in around May is when I get into trouble. haha Then it is watermelon... Those seem to be my two biggest fruit addictions. Even though they are pretty high in sugars they are also high in water content so I don't gain from them. Whew... Well, that was last summer, we'll see what happens this year! Your day looked very good! My mouth is watering for a hot chocolate with raspberry syrup after reading that but my gut is hurting so bad tonight that I am putting NOTHING in it until it starts to behave. You have a good week too!

Ok...I want to know what a Mandu is also. I will have to "google" it. Breakfast-fruit & yogurt parfait for McDs (I am hooked) thin piece Pattridge farm Wheat bread with PB Lunch-Protein bar and a few pieces rolled up lunch meat ff pudding cup Dinner-ribs and 1/2 baked sweet potato Snack- sf jello a few tort chips with salsa skinny cow ice cream I am really trying to make better choices on what I am eating and would have had a pretty good day if I had not stopped by my sons chip and salsa bowl. I did move as I went to the GYM. The eliptic (sp) machine about killed me I will get better on it. I am also trying to get my BuNcO group to the the Susan Komen breast cancer 5K walk/run in April. I figure I have 2 1/2 months to get ready. The was always one of my goals is to be able to walk/run in something with out "dying" along the way. I am pretty excited about it New Year NEW ME!! Diana

Your day really did look good, way to go! I've never been on an eliptic machine...it does look like a really good workout. Good for you working on your BuNcO group to do the walk with you. You could have a great time together. A bunch of us from work are going to get matching t-shirts for our local annual 12k run in May (http://www.bloomsday.org/). I am hoping that by working on the treadmill now I will be able to walk/jog it with my daughter. She very kindly walked it with the old woman last year and I thought I'd never survive just walking. My goal this year is to be faster, not that the huge crowds allow it. We December babies are making awesome progress this year!!!
