Hi All! Hope you guys are doing well, the board has been very active on here this week and I LOVE that.. makes me feel like a close family really trying to help one another.. lets keep it up. We are over a year out and I think that is pretty unheard of for all of us to be such a close family at this point in the game.. we really have something special here... don't u agree? Makes me so proud...thank you!!! So gang.. what did ya eat and how did ya move today??? On day 3 of 5DPT for me.. I did a lot research today before i started b/c I needed to see if i could still do a shake or a bar b/c I was very busy today and needed "portable protein". Both are fine actually.. but needed some "soft protein as well" so I did get that in I think.. not sure I did the BEST job with my choices but its fine. Today the scale said 131.8.. OMG.. we will see if its temporary or not.. im thrilled to say the least when I started near 137! I went to the gym for 2 hours. I did 1 mile on the track, 1 mile on the treadmill, 10 mins on the elliptical (ADD anyone? yep me! Lol) and then some free weights, floor exercises and a couple circuits.. I just can't do much more of those without my sugars going through the bottoms.. plus not eating enough right now with this pouch test to support any muscle building anyways but at least I am "toning". B: Cottage Cheese Blueberry Pancakes with SF Maple Syrup - Molly I tried using 1 tbs of van protein powder and 1 tbs of soy flour.. EEEEEK I have decided I hate soy flour I think.. its so nasty! IMO anyway... so down the drain that concoction went. I made it next time with 1 tbs of WW flour and 1 tbs of van protien powder.. it was much more palatable! L: 4oz of Whiting fish and 1 cup salad that consisted of Romaine and 1 oz of light Mont Jack Cheese and 8 or so Whole grain croutons with low fat ranch dressing (1 tbs) WOW FILLING after the liquids for a couple days, so nice! PreGym Workout: 1 PB Granola Atkins Bar followed by 6 oz of Light Yogurt After Gym: Arctic Cappaccino protein powder by Gourmet Whey mixed with ice and 8 oz of light van soy milk... I love this stuff.. but u know me and my coffee protein drinks. I would give up my EAS for these. A friend sent it to me and I am thinking it would be more economical for me to be hooked on a powder rather than a premade shake. Plus it doesn't have the caffeine in it and I am back to having issues with sleeping little after stopping that wicked zoloft. Snack: 1 cup SF Jello with Light Whip Snack: 1 light mozz stick, 1 SF pudding Cals: 1071, carbs 73, fiber 6 (boo), fat 36, protein 119 I prolli burned off 500 cals at the gym.. low eating numbers for that.. How did you do?

Wow, you had a great day and yes I agree we are a good team over here. I love and respect each and every one of you and am so happy to be on this journey with you all. Thank you for the update on the pancake recipe. I'll try it next time with some protein powder too. After spending a few minutes out in the Antarctic (getting my rear seat folded down in preparation for bringing home the treadmill tomorrow) I am a little bit more awake so at least my eyes focus a bit more. hahaha 8 hours at work today, hard hard work. Really a long day today and I ate great until I got home when I got into the granola-type oatmeal stuff I have in the cabinet. Wish I'd saved the package...it is raw oatmeal, sunflower seeds, dates, a few almond slices and prob. some flaxmeal. Meant to be eaten raw and I usually add it into yogurt usually. (though I rarely eat it) So it was carb grazing but really healthy carbs. --nf, sf soy latte 1) 1 mozz stick 2) 1/2 cup 0% fage, 1/2 cup cooked apple, 1 carrot cake muffin 3) 2 oz. chicken breast, 1/2 cup caulitators 4) 1 homemade protein bar 5) 1/3 cup granola/meusli-stuff 6) 1 chicken thigh, 2 cc pancakes (leftovers), 2 oz. 'whip' 7) maybe an EAS later (totals don't include this) calories: 861 carbs: 80 fats: 17 protein: 97

Hello December Family!!!! I am so happy to be a part of this group that I only wish we all live closer so we could actually meet. I come here more than once during the day, but most of the time I do not post b/c I am very shy------ Today I am very proud of myself, eventhough I could have come up with an excuse not to exercise, I exercised today...... Now I look foward to my workouts, it has become fun to do, it's a time for myself. I did much better today, had: b-atkins bar with 1 banana s-nf sf latte with 4 small milk cookies l-4 oz steak, balsamic tomatoes, few wheat thins s-nf fl latte with milk cookies-getting ready to give these up d-taco salad---crumble taco shell, tomatoes, lettuce, chesse, ground meat and taco salsa. s-sf nf latte Time to go to now....have a great friday everyone!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with Bea---i wish we lived closer so we could all get together....maybe one day we can meet in the middle!!!! OK i had a weird day cuz work is so nutz--i got here and found out at 7:55 that i had a conference call at 8:00 that lasted until 11:00. So much for breakfast! B: 2 strips of Bacon S: egg beaters L: 3oz Tuna (dry) D: 5oz shrimp S: mozzerella Cal 593 Fat 24 Carbs 6 Protein 81 Still sitting at 187 have not lost any more weight........will have to work on that.....everyone loses 9-10 lbs and i have only lost 4lbs......(i know better than to compare myself but i cannot help it- especially since i still have a lot to lose) If i have to i will start the 5dpt on Monday again sheez........

Hi I know I am a day late with this but I thought I would post anyway as I started back yesterday logging what I eat. Don't know if I will post everyday but I'll try to post some. Even if it isn't good UUUUUGGGGG. I love our little group too everyone has always been so helpful to me. Well here goes...... B: Coffee Cream of Wheat w/ ICBINB and Equal Banana S: 1 cup of SF Chocolate Milk L: cheese stick and an orange S: graham cracker and reduced fat peanut butter D: cottage cheese mixed with lf strawberry yogart S: 2 pcs. of peppermint candy and 2 sf popsicles Cal: 971 Carb: 143 Fat 27 Prot. 38 oh and NO MOVEMENT AGAIN!!!!!!!!! Yea I would love to live closer too then some of you could come over and drag my butt to the gym and beat me into shape LOL. Mini Me

Hi Melissa! Good job logging!!! If I may though, I would love to make a "suggestion". Carbs are high and protein VERY low.. your body malabsorbs protein and fat to a certain degree as this is what the duodenum is mainly responsible for (first part of the bowel that ALL of us no longer have). What we do have left is the rest of the bowel, jujenum etc that does absorb some of those proteins but not totally.. and yes it will get smarter and absorb more the farther we go out but never 100%. Actually the more research I read, the more "whey protein isolate" (what we find in most of protein shakes) is already partially digested and broken down into its amino acids etc, where as meat isn't. For us, it seems whey protein is best absorbed.. not that I am saying we should live on it but I think a good protein shake in there would do you wonders... We absorb 100% carbs/sugar.. just keep that in mind. Unless its fiber of course.. those fiber carbs don't get absorbed on anyone.. WLS patient or not. Good job keeping track, get that protein in girlie!
