Aloha everyone! I am at a stall (again). I stall the majority of the month then lose big in one week. Use to it but still frustrating. I tried doing the 5DPT but didn't last 2 days. Probably because I had months of liquid protein pre-op and I just could not do that to myself again. But, I have knocked out my sugar attacks (darn Dove dark chocolate). I stopped buying it. Went back to basics and feel much better. I did try a piece of chocolate a few days ago and regretted it big time...felt down-right crappy for a couple of hours. Nice to know my body reacted that way and made me not want to go near the stuff for a while! HW: 392 SW: 357 LW: 204 CW: 204

Hi there Elaine! Sorry to hear about the stall, those are very frustrating! Once I hit 200 lbs i pretty much lost every 2 weeks and stalled inbetween or lost very little the other weeks.. I think we all get a pattern after a while.. don't be discouraged as long as the scale keeps moving in the wrong direction. Glad the chocolate is giving u negative effects now. It is ok if we truly can eat these things in moderation but if we can't its best to do away with it. Even SF things can be triggers.. any food good or bad can be a trigger. I have a few diet foods that are just tooooo yummy and I cannot go there.. b/c id eat too much of it.. good for you for recognizing you need to to stay away from that stuff at least for a while. Keep up the good work, the scale will move here soon, be patient.

This is exactly how I would lose in the beginning and is how I expect to lose even after delivery. I'm hoping I can get through the 5 day pouch test myself after baby is born. I still have a hard time with pudding, jello, cottage cheese, yogurt, etc. because of the pre/post op diet. We'll see what happens there. Good for you for exercising will power and not buying the chocolate anymore. Eliminating those refined carbs is so difficult yet essential. And it IS nice to know the body says NO THANK YOU...isn't it???

I am so trying to get back on track and am so struggling. I have been better the last few days but it is so hard. I know I can gain everything back that I have lost if I keep going the way I have been and I am not going to do that. I went through so much having this surgery and have worked to hard (till this summer) to lose what I have lost so far. I have found a protein powder I like (Chike) so I am doing to order a tub. It is expenisve but so is fast food restrauants and that never kept me from pulling in them. PLUS I am worth it HW-358 SW-338 Last week-246 Lowest-241 CW-244 I am happy that I am down 2 from last week but I am still 3 up from my lowest and a long way from my goal. I am going to check out a gym this week and I really think that will help me. Hugs Diana

Hi Diana.. logging on fitday is pretty eye opening.. it really makes you realize on paper, in black and white, just how easy the cals and carbs can add up.. and fat. I am glad you found a protein powder u like. I am speaking at my March Support Group meeting and have asked the company to provide me samples.. I am hoping they will comply.. it has had very good reviews on the main board of OH. Hang in there.. you are doing good and keeping things real by logging and making strides to do things to get active (the gym).. i know once u get into the gym it will be something u will look forward to.. it will be "Diana time." Lots of hugs.. hang in there.. you are gonna be fine.

I just wanted to say, keep up the good work. And I LOVED what you said, "It is expenisve but so is fast food restrauants and that never kept me from pulling in them." You are SO right about that!!! That really put some things into perspective for me. So, thank you.

Melissa, I am very grudgingly here to post. Now that I've read all the other posts and replied a few places I have to get this over with. My scale is at the top of the sh*t list today and it is probably jus****er weight but I'm MAD about it! I've been trying so hard to fight the carbs, get my fluids in, get extra exercise and what do I get...a 1# gain. And actually it is really more like a 3# gain because I got down to 130 over the weekend. waaaaaaa...... HW: 268 SW: 230 LW: 132 CW: 133 Sorry, I'm just P*SSED! DH and I got into a big fight last night and having that hanging over my head this morning didn't help either. I had a little retail therapy today and bought some expensive groceries (who says you spend less on food after surgery? not me!) and a new floor-cleaning doodad. Hmmph! Molly

Oh Molly.. Hugs to you. I hate it when the scale goes the wrong way.. it just doesn't seem fair does it. Especially when you feel you are doing it all right which you are.. you know it takes 3500 cals in excess to gain a pound and its water weight and temporary.. glad you do realize this. So what yummy groceries did ya buy? Inquiring minds want to know.. sorry about DH.. I hate when things aren't right between my own DH and I.. such unncessary stress.. im lucky that isn't often. Hang in there sweetie..

Since I still have a terrible sweet tooth I'm trying to find more natural ways to please it and not cause more cravings. Got a package of those ind. wrapped prunes and I find I actually like them! They take a lot longer to eat than one of those blasted sf Dove chocolates and so gooey and satisfyiing. Not to mention only around 25 cal AND fiber! Also bought some fancy-schmancy dried mushrooms for a bit more gourmet flavour to my dinners, a pkg of that new Special K water additive that has fiber in it to help fill you up. Found a german yogurt/herb salad dressing with pretty good numbers. Treated myself to a few more packages of ff cream cheese and a big tub of ff cottage cheese. Why do those products have to cost so darn much more than their full-fat cousins!? Let's see, what else...more Polaner sf syrup and jam, more Estee sf maple syrup and some organic virgin coconut oil. What fun stuff that is...you can cook with it and use it as a cosmetic! And smell terriffic! LOL Aren't you sorry you asked?
