Hi, Mel... I did not realize that the 5dpt had so many foods to eat for the first few days. I thought that it would just be protein drinks, broth, tea, and water... duh! Hope that all goes well for you today and that the Carb Monster stays away... How are you feeling this morning? Hungry? Drained? Extra-Energy? Any "changes" to the "pouch"? XOXOXO Ro Here's my Eats: B: 8 oz cantaloupe, 3 oz farina, NF yogurt, 1 oz tuna salad L: 1 oz tuna salad, 1 Light Babybel, 2 oz brown rice, garden salad w/ Wish-Bone spray D: 2 oz 2% cheddar, 3.5 pumperknickel pretzels, 1 c kale soup (no meat), 5 soy crisps, 1 mini cornbread muffin S: 3 oz farina, 4 oz cantaloupe, 1 Fudgsicle Calories: 968 Fats: 27 Carbs: 129 Protein: 57

Hi Ro! Yes, Kaye Baily provides us with a "basic guideline" to follow but if you go to the website and then go to the "neighborhood" it has a question and answer section and also a huge website dedicated to those who need support with regain and or motivation to stay on track.. 5DPT questions, etc. Carb control yogurt, SF pudding and some soups are also allowed! I got the split pea/ham one straight from her website. It sure makes the day much more bearable. I think the first time I did this I didn't not realize I could have more than just shakes and broth and jello.... I feel great actually, no headache or carb withdrawl actually. I normally do not eat more than a 100 carbs in a day (when I was loosing anyway) and so therefore I was only over a couple times (enough to gain some weight for sure!) and so that may be why its been a smoother sail for me than some I have read about. Seems day 2 is the hardest for most, wasn't for me at all. I am not hungry b/c as Kaye states and I quote "you should not be hungry on this program, you can eat as often as you want to maintain satisfaction. The 5DPT is NOT a diet, its about detoxing from the carbs and gaining control again over the pouch. As for if I feel any more restriction.. well because I am still on liquids, not yet, I wouldn't know yet though. Tomorrow I should however. I am doing one more day of liquids today to get a full 2+ days in since I didn't start till i woke up after working on Monday afternoon. (gonna do it right! better to be more than less!) Energy wise I am feeling much better overall because I am off that darn zoloft I tried.. no more medications for me... I learned my lesson and will take some benadryl for better sleep at night. The only positive thing was I was sleeping lke a baby on the darn stuff... for the first time since WLS... but I was a zombie the rest of the time. Now I am back to not sleeping again so gotta find the balance.. but at least I can function during the day. You are doing a great job with your stats.. keep up the good work and thanks for being interested in my journey with the 5DPT! So far I *really* like it as a tool and highly recommend it... do not ever be afraid to gain back the control... again u shouldn't starve on it.. losing weight on it is a side effect.. its more about "gaining control". So use it in the future *if* you need it.. its nice to have it and the support site that goes along with it. Hugs!

Well girl 1 hour of aerobics and 600 cals, I COULD SEE WHY! Good gosh, id chew more than an arm, prolli the siding off my house too! lol.. Great job though, you have the control and it feels really good doesn't it? I ended up eating 200 more cals than I even posted and didn't do near the movement of you. My scale was up to 137ish, today back down to 133.4.. so I can't complain. I am still 2lbs from my lowest... I wanna go to 130 like Molly now.. I think I would even venture to say 128 to say I have lost 200 lbs now.. oh funny how I go from one extreme to the next! Keep up the great job! Let's both check in later again! Enjoy soft protein.. im way jealous! lol I am interested to see if you feel more restriction today. Hugs!

Oh funny about the carbs, you had me just cracking up outloud when I read that! I think you and I have similar brains! Thanks for the praise on my weight loss, some days its hard to put even my own had around it.. other days, its never enough.. ya know how it goes.. I need to remember just how far I have come, you reminded me today.. Thank you for that. You also have come *SO* very far and I just love and admire all of your determination Dawn. Thanks for inspiring me daily on here and keeping the WLS journey fire alive and focused... glad the egg beaters were awesome.. I think I am going to do the CC pancakes tomorrow for breakfast (uh.. yeah looking forward to real food myself!) I think it would be ok, I am just going to use 1 tbs of soy flour maybe (Very low carb, high protein) and 1 tbs of vanilla protein powder for the other.. might be a disaster but ya know what, bet it still tastes darn good and then it has all the "legal" foods in it.. haha.. and its soft just like any egg bake would be which is allowed.. so I think its fine to do.. oh bring on the food! lol.. i'm such a foodie.

I'm on my second day of the 5DPT... Yesterday went well, the evening was very hard. Today, It's only 3:47 pm here in Germany, I have had the following: 1- Cappucino cafe latte protein drink with water for breakfast. (90 cal) 2- decaf coffee for mid morning "snack". (35 cal- I added cream) 3- Yogurt (67 cal, 1.9 g sugar ) and a quark (74 cal) (it's a cheese- based yogurt) for lunch 4- yogurt for mid-afternoon "snack" (67 cal) 5- I'll have 1 cup of cream soup for dinner (110 cal) and a protein drink for evening snack.(90 cal)...and I hope I stop there, but if I feel I want something else, I still can do it! Between yesterday and today I am 2 lbs lighter and it wasn't too hard. I am now looking forward to my soft proteins tomorrow!!
