Ab pain question
Just curious...who amongst our little group has had appendicitis before? I had a bout of chronic appendicitis (didn't need surgery) 14 years ago and think that it is back again. Have had ongoing tender pain in that same spot for the last two days now. No fever, chills, diarrhea or constipation but the pain is increasing a tiny bit. I wonder how long to wait to see the dr. I see my surgeon next week and if it doesn't increase by then I'll just mention it to him. Besides, I had my one-year labs today and if the cbc shows anything they'll let me know.
Am just wondering if this could also just be some random ovary spasm or something or maybe just a pulled muscle. You know how we post-ops are so much more active now!

Right side, midpoint--not really high or low. I'd say it is even with the top of my hip bone and to the right of my belly button. Continuous pain. Sharp if I press on it and it is centered on a lumpy thing (could be the ovary). Worse with movement. Eating doesn't seem to affect it and no nausea. Hurts more if I take a deep breath. If I notice any fever (none yet) I'll call the dr. right away. Keeping up with my fiber supplements just in case it is fos developing.
It has been soooo many years since that chronic appendicitis that it is hard to remember what the pain symptoms were. Mike was stationed in Turkey at the time and Elizabeth was little, I just remember being so worried about needing surgery with nobody there to help. But antibiotics resolved it then. Had a whole lot of tests, including a double shot of barium enema. THAT is one test I will NEVER repeat. Ever. It brought on ptsd from childhood incidents and nothing is worth going back to that again. Blech...
Melissa, I'm sorry I didn't get online yesterday. It has been such a looong two weeks and I was wiped out after work. To answer you, no i don't have my gallbladder anymore. It was taken out during my 1st wls. However, as an update: that pain is gone today. So I'm supposing it was maybe just some random inflammation in either the appendix or maybe even my right ovary. I expect pain like that on the left side since I have a cyst on that ovary but right side pain is more unusual for me. Thank you for being there. Hugs!!
