i wish they made "travel-size" scales

i've been eating out every meal for 4 days straight now and enjoying every bit of it. we've been walking a lot (when not on a isle cruise or a tour bus) so i don't think any major damage done to my figure but i admit i'm suffering from a scale withdrawal. i guess it's a combination of still being less than a year out post-wls and remembering all too well what gaining weight felt like and the fact that here is Greece don't have the comfort of having my familiar "safe" food (EAS shakes, energy bars, veggie burgers, Splenda) so i'm not sure how many calories i'm consuming. oh well, i guess i'll just continue to eat and drink everything local (the food and wine here is truly divine) and hope that i have learned enough to intuitively know how many calories my body needs. other than that, this is turning out to be the best vacation of my life (or pretty close). the country is breathtakingly beautiful and ex-boyfriend (or whatever he is at this point, at the very least, one of my best friends, not counting the 'benefits" part) and i are getting along beautifully (why couldn't we do that when we were together?) and are laughing non-stop. tomorrow (tuesday) is our last day here.

Sounds wonderful - I am so jealous! In a way you are giving us all a reference point. By seeing how you do without the usual safety nets (OH, safe foods, scales, etc.) we can see how we can do on our own. I have to say I think it's wonderful you are stepping out and really enjoying what Greece has to offer. After all the point of WLS is to give us the chance to really LIVE. Have fun!!! Kerdeeya
