pouch size aaarrrggghhh!!!
Hi Steve, you are right on with the taking the time to eat ect. I will work on that more closely. I was eating slowly this morning and I still got stuck. And you do feel really sick for about an hour.
I will really watch myself when I eat, bite wise and time wise. I usually only take about 10 min to eat. Thank you so much for the input.

PS by the way I do really well with rice, but pasta...goes down ok, but cramping, bloat and general agony for about 4 hr afterwards.
On the stuck issue, haven't had it in a good long while now. But when it was occurring with some frequency, I found a solution that worked for me, at least. Before I even touch my plate of food to eat it, I measure out my portion of protein, then like i'm a little kid, I cut each bite in to the correct size.
Then I eat. I found then i wasn't getting distracted and cutting bites too big, or big enough I got tired of chewing them.
As for pouch capacity, my surgeon's partner says if you are really concerned about it, to do the cottage cheese test. Take and measure out a 1/2 a cup of cottage cheese, and eat it, without really chewing, as fast as you can. When you hit "full", you'll know. Should be between 1/2 to 3/4 a cup, if I remember correctly, closer to the 1/2c. I can eat a full cup of cottage cheese, if I take my full 20 minutes, but it leaves me feeling FULL.
Depending on the SB meal, or LC, I can usually eat a full one now, at almost 11 months out. But, a few months ago, could only eat half of one. I'm with Melissa on this one. They have a lot of water in them for rehydrating, so don't stress out if you can eat a full microwaveable meal. Oh, and I can only still only eat half of a SB pizza, at one time.
Hi Heather, I used to cut and measure everthing. I am going to go back to doing that. It's so easy to become lazy and not weigh, but it does keep you in check. I am going to try the cottage cheese in the morning when my pouch is totally empty and see what happens, I'll let you know and thanks for the advice.

My NUT told me a while back that frozen lunches are mostly water and that's why are able to eat the whole thing. I have been eating the whole thing since four months out or so and she said not to worry.
I also feel that sometimes I eat way to much, but compare that with what you used to eat over a year ago and I am sure it's not that much.
Go back to measuring your foods and that should give a good idea of how much you are eating.
