Hi gang! Sorry this is late, I guess we are all busy today. But I have tried to do better today and definitely want to take the chance to get it online before too much more time passes. My moves were work again today and then being on my feet all day at home. Sorry to say that it was a heavy baking day today but I didn't eat any of what I made....woohoo! I was just 'in the mood' and enjoyed making the house smell great and filling up the freezer for the kids and coworkers. Here's what I ate today: 1) homemade oat-kamut pumpkin protein bar --nf, sf soy latte 2) 2 serv. egg beaters, 1/2 cup zucchini scrambled together 3) 1/2 cup nsa ice cream, 2 tab. craisins 4) 1 slice diet pumpkin cheesecake --sf, nf chai 5) 2 serv. egg beaters 6) 1 slice PK's Meat Crust pizza later with 1 cup marinated cucumbers calories: 976, carbs: 74, fats: 37, protein: 77 Good numbers for me, woohoo! Hope you all had a good day today too. Hope that we all have a nice week and I hope it goes FAST! I have a four day weekend coming and am looking forward to it greatly!!! Molly

Hey Molly! Checking in from work! Glad you get a 4 day weekend... that is awesome! Tonight has been rather strange.. you ready for this.. be seated. My husband calls me at work.. he is trembling in his voice... he found a 1" x 4" silver flat box knife with blade (not retracted) baked into his pizza he ordered. Scary! He took a pic of it and filed a police report. I doubt he will be sleeping much.. I told him I am afraid this will go national and stuff.. sigh. Of course I am sure it was an accident but how? It is so big.. sigh.. my mind has been racing about it all night. Anyways.. here is what I ate. B: Pumpkin Protein Bar with 1 tbs of "frosting" and 1 tbs of light whipping cream and later 1 light mozz cheesestick. L: 1 egg, 2 oz lean ham steak. S: EAS shake on the way to work D #1: 4 oz pork chop and 1/2 cup steamed mixed veggies D#2: 1 cup chicken chili. A few peanuts (like 5 or 6 from work here) I brought in some left over snack mix.. gotta keep my hands out and I will the rest of the night. I didn't do bad. Cals 971, fats 31, carbs 69, fiber 10, protein 103 I moved my groove thang at work.. more my spinning head.

Oh Melissa, that knife thing does not look good. Did he call the pizza place to notify them?

Hey Beatriz, yeah quite scary.. not fun at all. We have contact the sheriff in town and then also the Iowa State Health Department, they are coming Thursday to look at the evidence and probably investigate the store and question them. Aaron (my husband) went to the store manager today and she was amused by the whole thing.. laughed at him and brushed him off.. he was very very upset by this. He has a message left with the corporate office to call him, hes waiting on a call back. More than likely it was a prank or a mistake but regardless they need to be aware that it happened. I also asked an expert at the health department if he needs to be tested for any diseases (me being a nurse I worry) b/c I do not know that the knife hasn't come in contact with any body fluids (blood) or where else it has been etc.. doesn't look like the knife is new.. looks pretty used. Luckily they said b/c of the extreme heat the ovens cook those pizzas with it would kill any infectious organisms if there was any.. whew but if he were to start feeling sick to let them know and they will take it from there. He hasn't felt ill at all so glad of that. Its just weird.. the whole thing. I hate that it happened but we are dealing with it and just gonna try to get an explanation out of them for peace of mind.. in hopes that it was just a mistake or a prank etc..

Melissa, that sounds exactly like the type of box cutters we used to have at wor****il our corporate safety patrol decided to find us alternatives. They claim that people were always getting injured with them. (Personally, I have only ever been injured by the so-called safer blades.) Anyhow...I think that maybe the knife was just left by a careless (HIGHLY!) employee who had been opening containers in the back room. I haven't worked in the pizza business to know how it could get from where it was being used to open a case of food ingredients to being baked into a pizza but it does sound plausible. This is an industry-standard type utensil and is very often lost. For us in retail, that is dangerous because it could fall into the hands of a young child in our store. Sounds to me like you have an excellent case for a lawsuit. Hope that your husband will be able to sleep better soon. Molly

Hi Molly.. yes those knives are scary things.. more than likely it was an accident but it just freaked him out pretty good. I wrote an update to Beatriz above this post if you don't mind referring to it. I am just beat and need to go to bed. Got a big day again tomorrow. Painters here and I am meeting some girls for lunch at a mexican restaraunt (my fav place) for lunch then a staff meeting then the gym (much needed). I did go to support group tonight (the "getting back on track" one with my surgeon's group) it was good, I didn't learn much more than I already know. They did suggest the book "mindless eating" and I will purchase it. Have you read it? Thanks for the support btw.. makes me feel better talking to someone who deals with these types of box cutters that they get misplaced and things a lot. *hugs*

Hope that when you have some time in your schedule you'll let us know more about the back on track program. My surgeon's bariatric coordinator has gotten her certification this year in that program and is working to get one of those set up here in town through dr's. office. She is worried that the official program materials run a little too much $$ for a lot of people but I am thrilled that there is this program waiting in the wings in case I ever feel the need for it. Haven't heard of that book but I will look into it, sounds like a good one to have on the shelf for 'just in case' reading. Will have to go look at your new pictures, I love the new avvie! It has been so stressful around here that I just realized last night I missed our 11 month surgiversary on Sunday. Hope that things will level out here soon with DH, it is driving the whole family nutz! Grrr...... Molly
