Oh Marsha, I am so sorry. That is scary to have to be faced with another surgery after the first one was difficult. What does the doctor say? Have you talked to him about the weight loss or lack of lately? Right now I know we are all having problems on this board losing weight and bouncing. It is very frustrating.
Have you considered the 5 day pouch test? This might help you kick start your weight loss again. http://www.5daypouchtest.com/plan/theplan.html
Please keep us updated. I am glad you had a place to come to talk about things. You are always welcome and we are always here for you.

Aw, Marsha! HUGS!!!! People in my first wls support group used to consider hernias as big ol' wonderful gifts that would help get insurance to pay for concurrent tummy tucks! I'm so sorry that yours are causing you so much discomfort.
Have you already discussed hernia surgery with your doctor? Maybe now that you have lost so much weight (Which, BTW....WOW AND CONGRATULATIONS!!!!) your surgery risks would be much decreased. Certainly you must be able to move around a lot easier these days even with your new bumps. That alone has got to make the idea of surgery a lot easier now than when you were pre-op. My last surgery experience was awful but just based on treatment at the hospital; I really did just fine with the revision surgery itself. It is so easy to understand your concerns about another operation.
Please, if you haven't already, go back to your surgeon and discuss this with him or her. You definitely shouldn't have to suffer like this! You have worked so hard and come so far that you've got to lick this problem in order to then get around to addressing your plateau.
Hang in there and please keep us all posted. I'm sure we'll all be wishing you the best.
Molly
Hi Marsha,
I'm with Molly on this one; it's really important that you get back to your doctor. Or if you'd feel better, get a referral to a different doctor/surgeon. I know it's scary to think about doing the surgery thing again, but you really have to think about your long term health first and foremost right now. You can't delay - even if it's nothing right now. The second bulge is very disconcerting. And if your doctor (or any doctor for that matter) knows about what you're experiencing, you could really be rolling the dice here.
Is there any other reason that you didn't mention that keeps you from going back to the doctor? Is your insurance good? Do you have transportation? Do you have good support from relatives/family? If there's some other reason that you're not going back, there are ways to solve those problems. There are lots of smart people reading this and SOMEONE has something to say to help you. Please let us know and PLEASE try to get back to a doctor as soon as you can, ok?
Keep at it Marsha and you'll get back to where you can keep losing like you were before. You've come so far already, you can't let it all go for naught.
There's a way,
Steve
ty for replying...im sittin here cryin...it really sucks..... i went to dr when i first got hernia but he doesnt know about his one.....I really like my dr it wasnt his fault i almost died....My bloodpressure went real high the morning after my surgery...and i started bleeding and i asperated blood into my lungs they had to reopen me and clean me out.....They put me in a coma like state for 3 weeks... I missed xmas and new years.....this is why im scared to death to go back in to have another surger....even though I know that ti is an unlikely chance it wont happen again...but when u almost die u think about life a lot....no1 here at home understands that... they can all say u need it done but they just dont realize... ty all again for replyin Love u guys Marsha
Hi Marsha. I am sorry you're going through this. Along with the hernia the depression must be debilitating. Perhaps you should talk to your doctor about the way you're feeling. There are things available to help. Your weight loss is great! Over a 100 pound loss is tremendous. We all hit plateaus and they are very frustrating but if you continue following your "diet" things should kick in eventually.
We are all here to listen and help in any way we can. We've all been there in one way or another. Hang in there.
