HIYA GUYS!!
Good for you, whatever you are doing its working! I do think you need to make sure you are getting in good protein amounts, it is so very important for your overall muscles/organs/health as a postop person. I am a protein pusher more than most though, I have done so much research on how much we malabsorb. We do no malabsorb carbs or sugars but we do malabsorb protein. I am also bypassed more than some (150cm) almost to the point of a distal but not quite so I tend to eat upwards to 100 proteins a day and always have since month 3, has done me no harm but I drink a ton of water to keep those kidneys nice and hydrated.
I am sending the recipes now! Enjoy! have a good week!
HI R!
Have you tried either of these two?
Chocolate or Vanilla Pro Smoothie made by Nature's Best, sold through vitacost.com, 50 g of protein and only 1 g of saturated fat and 2 g of sugar in 15 oz.
or
Pure Protein High Protein Bars (between 29 and 32 g of protein, between 1 and 3 g of sugar, zero transfats but 4.5 g of saturated fat).
They're the "lesser" of all the protein "evils" that I've tried.
Hope they help,
Steve
Thanks Steve-
I haven't tried either of those. I'm willing to give it a shot. I think once I got grossed out by the flavors of everything in the beg I got too scared to go back and try them again. Hate that proteiny taste. The last time I tried a bar..it made me sick too. Thank you for the advice and I'll go look at the vitacost website
Hi Rebekka you look fabulous girl!!! very proud of you for being under your goal wt. I make my own protein shakes of 8oz soy mil**** and a low/no carb powder EAS I get it at sams club. I love the taste, cannot tolerate the ready made shakes and definitly not the protein bars...yuck. I have 10 more lbs to my dr goal and another 10 to go beyond that. I feel confident I will do it!!!
Take care, Erin
