I just wanted to stop by...haven't been on in a loooong while. You guys look amazing Some of you I didn't recognize at first Hope all of you are doing well. I'm still having major issues with getting enough protein in (they still all taste awful to me) and my hair is still really thin. Any of you guys have suggestions?? Miss all of you guys.

Hi! Hang around! I'm having the opposite problem....getting in too much protein. Well, that and too many carbs. hahaha Are you able to eat many meats? And have you tried disguising protein supplements in things like homemade bars or desserts? How about egg substitutes like Egg Beaters? That's also a nice, low-cal way to get in protein easily. What kinds of things are you eating these days? Molly

Thanks Mollly I eat lots of meat..in fact for the most part, that's the only protein i'm getting. I eat peanut butter with an apple. The powders and mixing them in stuff really grosses me out. I havent tried them in desserts or homemade bars...hmm sounds like a good idea though. I have tried on so many occassions to eat eggs and they upset my tummy..no matter how many different ways i make them. but havent tried the egg beaters though..do they make a big difference on how people can tolerate one over the other?? i'm eating lots of homemade soups and lots of meat made different ways. ohh and salads. eating more healthier thats for sure. i try to eat as much meat and beans as i can. Thank you for your help..and if you have any ideas for the desserts (recipes) please let me know Becky

Hi there, You look great. As far as protein intake goes, I unfortunately am able to get more than enough in (as well as all the other food groups), am struggling to stay under 12cal a day b/c i'd like to loose 20more lbs. As far as thinning hair--mine started to thin A LOT a few months ago but it seems to have gotten better (judging by my shower) in the last week or so. I recently started taking Viactiv chocolate chew multi-vitamin as well as chewable calcium citrate and vitamin B complex. Maybe that's what's helping.

Good to see you! The southwestern Egg Beaters are really good...and the fat that they save ---is awesome......Melissa (whipped scream) has a really good Mini Quiche recipe that provides a lot of protein and bulk for little fat and calories..... hang in there

I'm definitely going to try that. I'm desperate. I'm hoping if I get the protein in..I'll get my long curly THICK hair back!! I've been scared to try them just because I can't eat reg eggs. I'm going to see how I do though..THANKS!!

Becky, adorable picture! I have the same problem with eggs, have had that problem since my first wls in '99 in fact. But with this surgery I can at least eat Egg Beaters and am so happy to have them back in my life. (Am going to get some of the flavoured ones the next time I'm shopping, in fact!) The egg beaters give us less trouble because the protein from the yoke isn't in there so you don't get that binding problem when it is in the pouch and you can actually eat more of the Egg Beaters than you could of a regular egg. Check back in the archived pages here on this site...Melissa and others have posted quite a few really good protein-rich recipes the last few months and I know they're still there under their own headings. Her protein ball recipe is really good and tastes more of peanut butter (for me, soynut butter) than of protein. In fact, they are TOO GOOD for me and I had trouble having them around on Friday. I agree Molly, I cannot have them around either, I have duplicated the batch since I made the first ones! haha.. maybe christmas.. may be too afraid then too. Gosh are we ready for this kick off of colder weather and all these holidays that surround us with goodies galore? I need to be FOCUSED! We need to be strong ladies! I do anyways especially if its that "time of the month" PMS week of heck for me!

Hi Rebekkah, wow you look great and I am so inspired by you. Tell us all your secrets! For protein I get most of mine from food but do drink an EAS shake once a day and that seems to help a lot. It has 110 cals and 17 proteins, ready to drink and pick them up basically anywhere.. its the low carb advantage kind. Not the myoplex. Otherwise I do have a lot of recipes in a word document saved I would be glad to share with you. Send me a PM with your outside email address or post it here if you are comfortable with that I will send u what I have. Keep up the great work, I wanna reach your level of success someday! *hugs*

I wish I had secrets I have tried to be consistant with working out but lately have slacked off on it. I try to eat lots of fresh fruits and veggies. I dont measure out my food but I dont overeat especially when I love how it tastes. I'm going to have to start those shakes again and force myself to try them. Thank you so much for your thoughts and advice. YES, please send me your recipes!! [email protected] that's my e-mail. Thank you soooo much Becky
