How did everybody's weekend go...we know how Steve's went! Woohoo! Mine was cleaning, cleaning, baking. My house is a whole lot cleaner and I'm tired from all the work but glad to have done it. Still a ways to go but it is time to get ready for the workweek ahead. How did your eating and exercising go? We had rain and I didn't get out to do any gardening so i just stuck with the heavy housecleaning for my 'moves'. Here's my eats for the day: 1) 1/4 cup egg substitute and sauteed veggies (zucchini, red pepper, mushroom) --nf, sf soy latte 2) 1 serving cranberry/apple oatmeal 3) 1 pumpkin soy custard, 1 Morning Star Farms black bean patty 4) 1 serving Pumpkin Cheesecake 5) will be a Fake crab salad on baby spinach (1/2 cup shredded fake crab, 2 T ff sour cream) calories: 875, carbs: 93, fats: 32, protein: 60 I think the extra fat in the cheesecake satisfied me so well that I'm just not looking to eat much for dinner. A very interesting side effect! The rest of the cheesecake is going into the freezer. I don't trust myself around that much deliciousness! Hope everybody has a good week ahead and nice weigh-ins on Tuesday. Molly

Ate more than I wanted to thats for sure. B: 1 homeade pumpkin protein bar with 'frosting', 1 pickle spear and 5 melba rounds with some cream cheese.. over an hour.. ridiculous! L: 2 pumpkin protein muffins with 1 tbsp 'frosting' and 1 tbs of light whipping cream S: EAS Shake on the way to work D#1: 3/4 cups of brussel sprouts, 3 oz chicken breast D#2: 1 cup homade chili with 2 saltines. Cals: 1073, fat 31, carbs 92 (sigh), protein 120 (sigh again). Been a killer few days for me.. really. I am ashamed. Molly do you count your calcium chews as calories? I do the citrical creamy bites and they have 35 cals a piece and 4 carbs/sugars. I never have before but thinking ok, look at my day add 3 of those on and wow look at those totals. argh

No, I don't use the calcium chews. I have a nasty liquid supplement from Costco made by the same co. that makes their liquid glucosamine. But, I don't add in my usually-daily sugar free chocolates. The numbers are close to the same as the citrical chews, though. For awhile I was having one a day and not counting it then they became a problem and I ate too many so I gave them up for awhile and am back to them now at just one a day. It is my sanity treat and just another little head-game that I use to keep myself in control. If I'm eating badly or like today...had a piece of that cheesecake, I won't have one. Your numbers aren't that bad compared to a lot of my bad days. Isn't it amazing how ten months ago we were struggling to get in our 60-80 grams of protein and now we are trying to keep the numbers in bounds? Molly

Hi Molly, thanks for your views on this. I should probably count any calorie as a calorie but I hate to count things I am forced to eat haha.. but at the same time I love the chews, they are my little after lunch and dinner treat! giggles.. I say do what you have to do.. if that piece of SF chocolate keeps you sane EAT IT! I am learning more and more that this is more about balance than it is what we don't eat. Oh and Aunt Flo showed up one week early.. now it all really makes sense why I was eating like a mad woman the past few days. Again my nuvaring though isn't working. I have a call into the gyno.. argh I wish I didn't have to deal with periods. Hugs, Melissa

Why is it those darned carbs can add up so quickly? It really frustrates me sometimes but thank heavens for online food tracking or I know mine would be waaaay worse. Molly

Hi Molly, Hello All, Well, I'm in Baltimore, MD for business and find myself in the same situation that we're all in... WHAT TO EAT??? I ended up getting a blow-out on the Washington DC Beltway --- and for those who have driven on the beltway, you know how dangerous that can be. I was in the fast lane (speeding, like everyone else) and a guy in a van passed me on the passenger side and frantically pointed down... When I looked in the passenger side rear view mirror, all I could see was smoke!!! DAMN!!! I knew I couldn't get all the way across all lanes of traffic to pull off the road, so I pulled off the road to the left. Got it stopped without losing control. Then I got out and started to walk around the truck to see what had happened and realized that the fast lane was about two feet away from my head as I peeked around the side of my truck. BAD IDEA!!! Got back in the truck and called AAA for a tire change. An hour later, a guy showed up and changed my tire out --- I could have done it quicker, but I'm at a point in life that I can pay someone else to take the risk of changing my tire on the side of the busiest road on the east coast. Got it changed and drove straight to a Goodyear place to get a replacement tire. While waiting I asked about a local restaurant and was told that there was an Applebee's across the road. Went there and ordered a side salad (spinach, tablespoon of LF cottage cheese, 5 seedless grapes, two spears of summer squash) and a broccoli and cheese quiche. Didn't eat the crust on the quiche so it was just scrambled eggs and cheese with broccoli. That was supper, breakfast was a half cup of all bran with a quarter cup of FF milk. Lunch was a banana and a protein bar. All in all, about 1000 calories. Then, back to the hotel for my exercise, walked 1.4 miles in 30 min on one of the hotel's treadmills. How's that? No scales here, so I guess I'll have to wait until Friday to see how I'm doing. Talk to you all tomorrow!!!
