What did ya eat and how did ya move today? - Saturday
Hi Gang, I know I am way early but preplanning my weekend and getting ready to run on my treadmill although I am feeling the PMS wipe out right now.. so dang tired I wanna skip it. I hope I get the encouragment to do it but then I wonder if I will have enough energy to make it through 8 am tomorrow morning. Anyone else get this dang wiped out before your period starts??? Also having the munchies. Last night I had popcorn, pudding and a protein bar and ended up with 1100 calories.. hello? I am ashamed to admit it but I am not perfect and seriously being affected right now by PMS. So here I sit preplanning my day..
B: 1 egg, 2 oz lean ham steak
L: 2 pumpkin muffins with mix of 1 tbsp of cream cheese 'frosting' and light whipping cream
S: EAS Shake on the way to work
D#1: 3 oz chicken, 3/4 cup steamed veggies
D#2: 1 cup homeade chili with 2 saltines
I am leaving room for an unplanned snack being how snacking I am lately.. a mini bag of popcorn although I do not plan on eating it. I am purposely bringing my cals down over the weekend b/c of my over indulgence yesterday.
Cals: 812, fats 28, carbs 48, protein 103.
How did you do today? Someone push me on the treadmill now.
OK, you posted this a few hours ago. Did you make it to the treadmill? I have been continuing my house cleaning. After all that painting last weekend and last week my house turned into a real pig sty so all i did yesterday from when I got home till late was try to catch up on cleaning. It still looks awful! It may take all weekend and that is hard on my eating because it makes me want to graze. Woke up this morning to a 3# gain. No kidding! I ate nearly 2000 calories yesterday but didn't log them all. (got into the protein fudge balls pretty bad...now I know I can't keep those on hand safely) And like you I have the PMS munchies really bad.
Also like you, I'm going to try preplanning to see if that helps. I have already deviated by adding a pumpkin soy custard but here is what I've got so far:
1) whole wheat oat pumpkin muffin, scrambled egg beaters/zucchini (1/2 cup egg beaters)
2) 1/2 cup Kashi go lean, 1 serve diet yogurt, homemade bran muffin
3) * pumpkin soy custard
4) dinner salad: baby spinach, grape tomatoes, cucumber, 1 oz. ff feta, 3 oz. chicken, 2 T ff ranch dressing
5) ff, sf soy espresso if I am a good girl...my evening reward or else it will be a 5-cal jello (Tough Love Time!)
calories: (this is without the pumpkin soy custard) 600, carbs 68, fat:14, prot: 56
This will leave extra play room for another 200 or so calories and extra protein at the end of the day which is when I really need it.
Have a good day at work, hope you have enough energy!
o.k. so far:
1/2lbs of fresh shrimp w/horseradish and a little miracle whip--270cal; 46g protein
assorted "allowable junk"--chewable vitamins, sugar free hard candy, slenderdize "fuze" low-cal drinks--130cals (est.)
total so far: 400cal; 46protein
2 be eaten and thoroughly enjoyed: 800 more cal (fingers crossed, will stay under)
exercise: doggie walk (what else is new)--2.9miles
the gym: (32min, 400cal--elliptical); a little weight lifting
about 2 go 4 another doggie walk
I need a life!!!
My oldest was in a swim meet today and they were almost a hour late starting and it was SO BORING!!! I packed stuff to eat there and picked all morning on it
Breakfast-1/2 alternive bagel with slice cheese
SNACK-Apple, cheese stick, 100 calorie pack ritz mix,
Lunch-part of a taco from Taco *ell
Snack-protein bar, small piece of Fat Free cake (no icing)
Dinner-beef brisket, greenbeans
I AM DONE FOR THE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!
I was wondering..I make this cake with a lemon cake mix, 2 egg whites and can diet sprite. My family LOVES it
I wonder if I could mix protein powder in it and bake it..do you think it would change the taste much?
Diana
Diana, that sounds like a fun recipe. I don't think the protein would change the taste much unless it was a heavily flavoured protein like some of the Nectar products. I made my sister a batch of protein bars with the tropical one (name escapes me) and it was really a strong taste.
The protein WOULD change the texture, however. My guess is that it would make it more dense or maybe not even rise well because of the whey. Give it a try and let us know what you think of it.
BTW, have you tried the Pumpkin Muffin recipe that is all over Sparkpeople? I made it for my son (I don't eat it because of the sugar in the cake mix) and he loves it but doesn't know it is healthier than a regular muffin. It is just 1 spice cake mix, 1 reg. can pumpkin and 1 cup water. Makes 24 reg. size muffins. He says they are like candy they are so good. A high endorsement from my resident picky eater.
Molly
It is the recipe I posted here awhile back as a good substitute for pumpkin spice donuts. I make mine in a mini-bundt pan so they have that round shape like a donut but they are so moist and freeze really well too.
