Anyone else stalling in month 10?
First let me start by saying I am not complaining. I know I am very close to my goal. I know it shows I am losing every week by my posts and I am but wow it has slowed down. I started on Oct 4 (my anny) at 147 today I am 146.5 I am bouncing between 144 and 146 over and over again. I just wondered if anyone else is having this issue. Last month I lost my 11 lbs and now I am good to lose 1, how strange? Thanks you guys!
I am stalling too. i upper my workeouts from nothing to at least 6 miles/day waking plus occasional trip to the gym, am eating better then ever and am still stalling and bouncing up and down like crazy.
it's been going on ever since i reached normal bmi about 2months ago.
please don't feel bad about complaining--that means i get to complain also, which is a relief. I got chewed out a bit on the WLS graduates board a few days ago for wanting to get down to 115 (which i know is ambitious--20more lbs but is still healthy for my 5'4 plus allows room for a 10%regain without freaking me out). So complain away--i'm here with you.
hugs,
Nat
Hi Nat, I hate to say I am glad I am not alone but very sorry you are stalling. If 115 would look good and not too thin on your frame then who are they do judge? We all have different bone structures, muscle mass, etc.. I am realizing more and more as I approach my goal of 140 that I could be in the 130's and look just fine. Now if I can just get to goal I would be happy, this month has sure been rough so far. Not losing much by any sense of the word. I too go up and down the same pounds ever since I got to a normal BMI but in the end it still averages out right but this month so far.. not gonna be like last month but I guess that is to be expected. I went from being scared of losing to fast to now this haha.. funny how ya get what ya wish for sometimes! As long as the scale keeps going down little by little I will be happy even if it takes me several month months.
Thanks for listening!
Wish I could remember exactly what my doctor's PA said to me at a previous checkup...it is something along the lines of the less body mass you have to lose (meaning closer to goal) the more difficult it is for the remaining muscles to burn it off without building new muscles. So the weight loss slows down. I don't think that means that in order to get the last few pounds off you have to build up a lot more muscle mass, although you could do that but then end up weighing the same by the time that new muscle weight shows up on the scale...but you have to accept that the loss slows down.
Did that make *any* sense? When it was explained to me it was so clear but that is how it is in the doctor's office...it is crystal clear and then as soon as you cross the threshold of the office darned if you can explain anything you were just told.
Molly
Makes perfect sense Molly, I just need to be patient. I have been circuit training also and building muscle and I know muscle weighs more than fat. It is hard getting used to the scale not moving as much. Sometimes I wish I made my goal 150 which I thought about then I would be there But no, I wanna keep going so its gonna be slow go from here on.. and I was so worried I was losing too fast, funny how things happen. Thanks again and have a good weekeend!
