Well it has been a really dreary day here.. has made me kinda lazy honestly. I slept in till 10am and then filled out some Halloween invites for the party we are having this year and then printed off some games I found that we can play. I am getting ready to stuff treat bags for the kids for Halloween night. I haven't exercised yet. I would like to take a slower pace day and just go for a walk with the dog, if it stops raining I will do that. If it doesn't I may do "intervals" on the treadmill brisk walking style. My shins hurt a bit from running at the gym yesterday so gonna scale back a bit today but still gonna move! So here is what I ate! B: 2 egg beaters (1/2 cup) and 2 oz lean ham steak. Why is it I can eat more egg beaters (like twice the amount) over real eggs? Molly? You eat egg beaters.. why is this? I am growing to really love them. (129 cals, fats 2, carbs 2, protein 22) S: South Beach Cinnamon Raisin Protein Cereal Bar (have I told you how much I love these yet? wow..) (140 cals, fats 5, carbs 15, protein 10) L: 4 oz rolled talapia in spinach/cheese and romaine side salad with 1 oz skim mozz shredded cheese, chopped red onion, salad toppings and 2 tbsp of FF italian dressing. S: Iced Decaff SF Caramel/Cinnamon Latte (homeade) using light vanilla soy milk and a squirt of light whipping cream. (cals 80, fats 4, carbs 5, protein 6) D: Turkey Sausage on a La Tortilla with mustard and side salad using romaine, red onion and FF italian (can't get enough of these salads lately!) (187 cals, fats 9, carbs 11, protein 15) S: EAS Caramel Cafe Shake (110 cals, fats 3, carbs 3, protein 17). Cals: 844, fats 32, carbs 51, protein 99. Wow this is the best day statistic wise I have had in a very long time and all was or will be very yummy! How did you do today?

Hi! Omigosh, I've got the new Michael Buble Christmas cd playing right now and I'm in the BEST MOOD! Music does it for me!!! (Christmas music, especially!) Having 'dinner' early because tonight is support group night...the bestest night in the whole darn month. yeah baby! Melissa, I'm totally with you on the egg beaters. I use the Costco kind but same thing. They go down so much easier than real eggs! And they just taste better and better to me, partly because they're a 'cheap' meal in my daily calorie budget and that pleases my head as well as my pouchie. haha My guess on why we can eat more? I think maybe the egg white and egg yolk bind together and hang around in the pouch longer (because of the proteins in the fat?) than just the white alone. That doesn't make a whole lot of sense when you look at them cooked separately...the whites can get really rubbery as in a hard boiled egg I know. If I can corner the nut. at the meeting tonight (if she's there) I'll ask her about it. Made another run to the Davinci Syrup store today (aka Cash and Carry) and picked up some nice selections for my collection. It brings me up to 32 flavours. Hey, I beat Baskin Robbins for selection. hahaha Wish you could taste the Torani sf Brown Sugar Cinnamon. It TOTALLY BEATS Cinnamon Dolce. Hands down!!! I'm giving the CD to my daughter the next time I see her. Gonna make a cookie dough decaf latte for the meeting tonight. Nummy! Here's today's eats...really good too! I'm proud of me! (Oh, and for moves it was a 'truck day' again at work so lots and lots of hard work and fast-paced!) 1) 2 PK's Pumpkin Protein Pies --nf, sf soy latte 2) 1/2 cup ff cottage cheese (grabbed it thinking it was Fage, what a rip!), 1/2 cup Special K Protein Plus cereal 3) 2 turkey/cheese rollups, 1 whole wheat oat pumpkin muffin, 1 baked apple 4) 1 sf whole wheat bran muffin 5) 1 millet protein cake 6) small spinach/chicken salad w/2 T ff ranch dressing calories: 837, carbs: 100, fats: 10 (oops...too low!), protein: 93 Ha Melissa...we are on some of the same kicks! I am on a baby spinach salad kick the past week since my last trip to Costco.

Support group was WONDERFUL! And I was able to ask the nut. about the eggs and she said the same thing I guessed...it is the combination of proteins in the yoke and the white of the egg that bind it and make it denser in our pouches whereas just the whites (like egg beaters) don't create the same feeling. I love having a nut. to ask! The muffin recipe was posted here, I'm sure of it. I absolutely love, love, love them because they give me that bread-y satisfaction feeling but I know I'm not having any white flour. I've gotten a lot of nice reviews on it too. http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detail.asp?recipe=145049 Molly

Thanks for asking your nut! The first time I noticed this was when I ordered a omelet at perkins. I love perkins b/c they offer egg substitute on all their scrambled eggs and omelets which is sooo nice! They only make a 3 egg omelet and I swear I can eat the whole thing if I wanted to if its made with egg beaters. If I do a regular one its 1/2. So weird. Now it makes sense. I hope I am not eating too much by eating 2 egg beaters and 2 o of ham on my pouch. I am realizing I can eat more these days before I get "satisfied" I think I'm reaching that cup to cup and a half of chewed food rule that they speak of. Kinda scary. But I know its normal. I realize now that I can eat pretty "normally", normal for a person of my size anyway. Thanks for the recipe I will make some tomorrow maybe if I have all the stuff! Glad you enjoyed your support group, those are such fun times. I wish we met more often with mine! I am so addicted to support systems.. physically, online and now therapy lol. My how life has changed.. exercise, good food habits, we really have come 180 haven't we? Great job Molly!
