Good Morning

Surgery weight: 310
Last Week 241

Thanksgiving MMMMMMMM last year i eat like it was my last meal and it was for a while LOL. This year I am holding Thankingiving here and I am going to make healthy dishes. In fact if anyone has some great recipes please share. I do not think it will be hard because i have learned to live diferently. Yes I do still sample the sugar once in a while but have learned to control myself.
Hi Kelly,
I understand about the last meal syndrome, however, the timing of my surgery was so fast (2 days) that I did not get to indulge like I thought I wanted to. I had 1 "last meal" and it was pretty healthy (fajitas.and a HUGE piece of chocolate cake). Then I was NPO after midnight.
I knew I was having surgery for 6 months (had to do 6 mo diet before approval) but never imagined I would get approved so fast.
Good luck to you, sounds like you have it under control and hopefully some of our December friends will chime in with some substitutions.

Hi Amy,
Happy early birthday to you!! I think I will stick to the proteins too--I really like turkey breast and ham and have grown to love okra/tomatoes and green beans. I will have a problem with the cornbread dressing that my mother in law makes. I also make a mean broccoli/cheese casserole which is really not that bad--but maybe I can add some shredded chicken to make it a little healthier.

Answer: My day is going to be the same as always...up early and cooking in my pj's while the Macy's parade plays on the tv and the family sleeps. The coffee will be brewing and the table will be set and I'll bustle around till it is time for family to arrive. Then as usual, I'll be racing to get dressed and ready. LOL The food is going to be leaner this year and a lot more sugar free offerings and a lot less all-out fatty offerings. I won't deprive the non-dieters of their traditional feast but it is definitely going to be modified. Don't anticipate any problems at all. Suggestions: Preplan as much as you can and pre-test any new recipes ahead of time so there are no nasty surprises. Have a fun day with your family and/or friends!

Thanks Molly,
You seem to have a good plan going! I know that you and Ro spoke the other day about lighter fare. Hopefully she will chime in today with some suggestions too.
I know what you mean about racing to get dressed and ready. I work retail too, but I am actually off this year the day after Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving day. I opted to work New Years day instead.
Thanks for your stats and have a great week!
