Molly, I love split pea soup. It's served every Thursday in almost all of the diners in NJ. When I make my own, I use the yellow peas and add carrots, celery, and potatoes. The yellow peas are a bit milder. So you still haven't been able to locate ground chicken. The turkey meatloaf sounds good! I can't waste the fats and cals on standard meatloaf... I get the "guilts". My relationship with food has changed.
I thought that you'd make a LF whole wheat Bechamel sauce for the cauliflower. I've never made soy protein powder, but the rest sounds good.
My hands and feet chill and warm throughout the day, but at night I can't stand the coldness. At first, it was difficult to sleep with the hat and gloves, but now I can settle down quickly and sleep. The material is actually quite soft. It works for me. Not very attractive, but? I am still tightening some items of clothing to fit better. I've done the fleece pj bottoms twice! As I mentioned, I am not great at sewing, but have managed to taper-in the inseam to knee area on a few pairs of jeans. My legs are really slimming down, but the excess skin above keeps me in a larger size. Only PS can really fix that problem. BTW my tailbone is still aching! At night I have had another strange ache in my hips and knees so I've been sleeping with a throw pillow between my knees. It seems to be a bone-on-bone thing or the new angle since there is less padding in my leg area. Do you have any of these aches? Ro
Dawn, you reminded me about the Pecan Pie! I totally forgot that the entire reason I bought the Steel's Country Syrup from bariatriceating.com is because of the pecan pie recipe!!! A very kind member of our support group made up teensy little pecan pie bite samples of it and you'd never know it was sugar free. Now, mind you....this stuff is maltitol or some 'tol so you don't want to overeat it but that made up my mind to order the stuff and have some legal pecan pie for Thanksgiving.
Boy...now I have all these good dessert recipes for Thanksgiving. SF pumpkin pie, pecan pie, sf gingerbread cake (that was from Jan on the RNY board, I think) and of course Melissa's Apple Crisp.
Oh dear... LOL!
Molly
I'll be at either my uncle's or my aunt's house this Thanksgiving (they haven't decided yet who's doing it this year.)
I'm not worried about the choices at all. At lease two people in attendance (my mom and my uncle) are health nuts so there will be plenty of veggies and low-fat stuff.
I'll probably allow myself a bite of anything that looks good but will hopefully not get too stuffed
