What did ya eat today and did ya move? - Tuesday
Yep, we have a new title all.. Dawn and I were chatting about it and we think a daily eats log as well as an exercise log is a good idea! So we are gonna start doing both. Exercise could be parking your car father away in a parking lot, taking the stairs instead of the elevator etc.. make sure you are doing some movement everyday! Very important to our success as WLS patients! I am a firm believe in it!
I am doing the 5 day pouch test, I put a link up about it. I think it will help me "feel" my pouch better and detox the carbs. So far I am doing really well.. not craving nothing.. yeah! So my diet is gonna look weird ya all..
B: 3/4 scoop of choc protein powder, 1/2 cup dairy ease fat free milk, 1/2 cup decaf coffee, 5 ice cubes and some SF Khalua syrup blended together.
L: SF Lemon Yogurt made with Dairy Ease fat free milk and vanilla protein powder. I had one cup.
S: chicken broth.
I only get shakes, clear liquids (jello, broth) and some cream soups for today and tomorrow.. I will get more shakes in tonight. Plan on having a SF chai shake and a couple EAS shakes too! I will get to 800 cals and prob more protein then u wanna know about!
I ran 2 miles today and broke my record!!!! I ran 2 miles on an incline of 2 (i know not high) but then I did 1 minute sprint bursts by suggestion of my PA at the surgeons office.. says this aids in fat burning over running one pace the whole time and revs the metabolism! So I did 2 miles in 25 mins! I was stoked!
How did you eat and did ya move today?
Hi! Good idea about the exercise posts. My exercise today was 6 hours at work: running up stairs, climbing ladders, speed walking, pushing-pulling-lifting heavy weights. My normal work routine. Then afterward, I parked clear at the furthest end of the commissary parking lot and did my grocery shopping for tonight's company. I sat down for the half-hour drive home and then was on my feet cleaning and cooking till my company came. It has been a good day!
Here's the eats and really good numbers even WITH the carbs!
1) protein 'coffee' (diet cocoa, 1 scoop Nectar latte cappuccino, 2 squirts sf syrup)
2) GNC cinnamon bun prot. bar
3) 2 turkey/cheese rollups, 1/2 cup ff cottage cheese, 1/4 cup bbq'd zucchini
4) 1 mini bag popcorn
5) 3/4's inside of chicken/apple sausage, 3 broccoli florets, 1/4 cup marinated cucumbers, 1 oz. cornbread
calories: 819, carbs: 69, fats: 20, protein: 93
Carbs are still high but for someone trying to maintain I think they weren't bad choices!

I did my intervals today, i did 2 miles in 30 minutes BUT no incline....good for you Melissa.....i am a new exerciser so i will work towards improvment to my time and endurance. According to my exercise website i burned 230 calories....http://www.healthstatus.com/cgi-bin/calc/calculator.cgi here is the link to the calories burned calculator....dont know how accurate it is.......but it is interesting.....put your weight in at the top....i enter my 2 miles in 30 minutes as "walking at 4mph"
Melissa:
HIJACK!!!! I believe you posted the Apple Crisp recipe...I made it for my boyfriend and I last night, and the only alteration I made was using "lite" brown sugar (1/2 the sugar) from Whole Foods, and Stevia instead of Splenda (I don't do Splenda or any other artificial sweeteners).
WOW!!! He topped his with vanilla ice cream, and I had a bit of Fat Free Cool Whip on mine...
It was SO GOOD! He raved about it, said he thought it was an excellent substitute. Yay!
Thanks again, and keep those rockstar recipes comin!
Megan
Hi Molly!
Stevia is an all natural fiber based dietary supplement based on a leaf extract. It is 100% calorie free, 500 mg of fiber per serving.
It is so awesome, less IS more! I only had to use a 1/4 cup of the Stevia powder instead of the sugar/Splenda for the original recipe. It was fabulous!
Stevia is sold and marketed by www.sweatleaf.com, any Whole Foods or co-op will have it! It's more costly than Splenda, but all natural!
Best,
Megan
