Since Melissa is at work I'll get this started. Today I've kept busy and away from the kitchen! My little reminder to stay on track has really helped. That and my Ipod! Here's what I ate: 1) 1 ounce Riceworks Sweet Chili Rice Chips, 2 T ff sour cream 2) 3 1/2 ounces chicken, 2 T ff ranch dressing 3) 1 cup tomato broth from a crock pot stew 4) a sugar free caramel macchiato (yum!) 5) working on 1 cup of the veggie stew (mosty carrots and broth) calories: 609(this is a guess because of the stew), carbs: 57, fats: 15, protein: 44 I figure I'll keep working at this stew awhile and then later have an EAS drink to bump up the protein and calories. If I don't, I'm afraid I'll be really hungry tomorrow as my body tries to make up for today being low. How did your eating go today? What did you have??? Molly

Hi, Molly! Bravo on adopting new behaviors! So proud of you! Just thinking of you staying on track with your meals and enjoying time outdoors...walking with the ipod.. has made me promise myself to get my sore tailbone back on the exercise trail again. So thanks a bunch! I had to toss some "snacks" lately because I could not control myself. To be totally honest, I toss them into my mouth... hence the 1.5 serving of "faux Cracker Jacks"...I stopped eating at 1.5 because the bag was empty! Enough Said! LOL I felt so guilty that I plan to be "good" and get moving too. I am almost out of SF Caramel syrup! The yams have been great...added nutmeg, cinnamon, blue bonnet, salt, pepper, and made them "moist" with as much Davinci Caramel as was needed. Boy! Yummo! Ro Here's what I had today: B: Atkins bar L: mixed beans & veggies w/ Newman's Balsamic (4oz), brown rice (1 oz) S: 2% cheddar (1/2 stick) D; beef tenderloin (2 oz), yams (2 oz), light sour cream (1 T), whole wheat Wrap-itz w/ ICBIN...Butter + garlic powder (nuked: 1/4 wrap), Fudgesicle (1 pop) Day's Total: Cals: 749, Carbs: 67, Fats: 33, Protein: 53 Week's Average: 843, Carbs: 83, Fats: 30, Protein: 66

Wow, those are excellent numbers Ro! I hate to tell you but the caramel macchiato I had today was with a syrup I just got yesterday and it is decadently good! Not calorie or fat free tho...but no nutrasweet at least. LOL It is Torani and the thick, gooey kind of caramel. It would be really good on those yams. Two tablespoons is 70 or 80 calories (not in front of me obviously) but well worth it for a treat. Too bad I can't carry a little sign with me while shopping "No Treats!". Maybe then those tossable treats wouldn't jump into my cart. LOL Molly

Hi, Molly! Thanks for the encouragement. I really have to see the weekly averages so that I don't panic about what I'm eating from day to day. I weigh just about everything, using my Good Cook scale (digital with oz and gram counter), measuring spoons and cup, a bunch of 1 oz medicine cups, 4 oz Ball jars... this list goes on. It's so much easier to figure out SparkPeople counts and stay on track with the calories. Makes me wonder why I did not think to measure food or to read labels years ago. Honestly, the food weighing is an odd behavior. Don't you think? Here's a News Flash: MY Wal-mart was out of the Davinci caramel...just a few bottles of vanilla and hazelnut left. I'm waiting for next week to try to buy again OR I'll be driving out-of-state to get my "fix". My family is addicted to it too. The Torani caramel sounds delicious! 70-80 calories is fine with me. Happy Yams! Where can I buy some? "No Treats!" Don't say that too loud! I was thinking it won't be long before there's a TV show called "The Food Police"! We'd both be on the top 10 Wanted Poster! Ro

The food weighing is not an odd behavior...we ALL should be doing it! I do it mainly with meats, other things I'm just sporadic with it. But I do use measuring spoons, measuring cups, 4 oz. rubbermaid containers, etc to help with portion control. It is as much about retraining my brain to think smaller as much as keeping on track with the program. You keep right on doing all that measuring, girl! Good for you!!! I know why I didn't measure ood or read labels more closely before....I was actively choosing to use food for self-medicating purposes and there's no way I'd have been cheating myself of any extra 'soothing' I felt I deserved. LOL! Found you a good price on that delicous Torani sauce: http://www.lollicupstore.com/torani-sauce.html I've ordered from them before (Terri on the RNY board recommended them to me) and been pleased with the service and products. I'm keeping my sauce in the fridge since it contains milk and soy. Didn't see a refrigeration reminder on the label but since there is milk...I figure it should be, don't you think? It makes it extra, extra thick and hard to get out of the bottle. A GOOD THING! Guess I am getting accustomed to lower sodium foods...that stew yesterday made me so thirsty and i got up today to a two pound gain. waaaa.... What with waiting for my period and that it must be water gain again. boohoo Have a great day! Molly

Molly, Thanks for the link. I'm going to check it out tonight, Girlfriend. I'll keep the Torani in the fridge to be safe...good idea. It stinks that you are good all week, but on Tuesday your weigh-in is OFF. I am going to do a "raindance" just for you! So if your up half of the night flooding away your water weight, you can thank me. Ro
