**TUESDAY 9/18/07 Weekly Weigh-in**
Good morning Dawn,
I have a question for today: What kind of vitamins / supplements do you take? How are your labs? Did you get 3 month and 6 month labs?
My stats below:
HW : 241
SW: 233.6
LW: 147.4 (9/13/07)
CW: 148.8 (9/18/07) I ate seafood last night, lots of sodium!!
GOAL WEIGHT: 130
Height: 5'2
What kind of vitamins / supplements do you take? I take 2 benefiber chews, 2 multi vitamins, 2 calcium citrate lozenges, 1 B complex and B12 dissolvables twice a week.
How are your labs? My labs were good the last 2 times. I got labs done last week for my surgery coming up on Monday, 9/24 so I have not seen those yet.
Did you get 3 month and 6 month labs? I got 3 month and 6 month labs and they were good. My next set will be in December at 12 mos post op.
We have to stay on top of these labs, vitamins and healthy eating to prevent problems down the road!!
Way to go December ladies!!!
Angela
Good one Angela!
What kind of vitamins / supplements do you take?
Armour Thyroid
Ursidol (gall bladder) actually done with this now
Iron 29 mcg
B-12 1000 mcg
Multi with A, D, K (morning)
b-12 shot 1x per month

supposed to take :

Calcium 1500 ( the "rules" are too hard, with food but not with iron--so i forget)
Fiber (after Melissa's poo incident i was really good too but not so much)
Multi (at night)
Colace (i will have an incident and i will be sorry)
How are your labs? Labs have been good- my thyroid is a bit high so she is trying to regulate, b-12 was lowish so now i take shots. I just had labs drawn last Thursday so we will see. Since she is trying to "fix" my thyroid i have them drawn every 60 days
it seems.
OH YEAH!!!!!! I told Melissa this ....but my dr has given me an appetite suppressant...i wouldnt call myself extraordinarily hungry but i TRUST my Dr. and she seems to think this will stave off my boredom eating at night???? I will let you know how it goes!

Seems excessive to me. What ya'll think?
Hey Amy, first of all congrats on ONEDERLAND!!!! that is so exciting!
It doesn't seen that awfully too excessive.. aggressive yes but in a good way. I personally would stick to it, I like seeing surgeons be proactive about vitamins. However I don't see a thiamin in there. See my post.. its ESSENTIAL now they say after RNY. Very important, talk to your doc about it. *hugs*
Hi Dawn!! Thanks for starting this post today! I am sick for the first time since surgery.. started getting a killer sore throat last night I have been really tired the past week so it makes since. I slept 12 hours last night. Tomorrow is my 9 month follow up appointment also and I gotta drive over 2 hours each way and husband cannot go with me so I guess me and the couch are gonna be friends today so I can rest up for it. I hate being sick, I make a better nurse than a patient, this I know for sure.
As for the question of the week (great one Angela!).. I have labs drawn at 6 months and will have them again at 1 year, I wish my doc did them more often. However when I went to the ER for my poo incident I had a ton of labs drawn then. I never saw them but I assume they were "ok".
I take the following:
2 chewable flinstone vitamins
1 sublingual b12 daily
1 L-Lysine (I take to prevent cold sores)
2 actigals (still on this to hopefully prevent my gb from going out as it was elevated at 6 mos out)
1 thiamine (this is VERY important ladies.. low thiamin is showing irreverible neurological damages in people after RNY that are low so talk to you doc about this if you are not on it. I take 100mg daily).
2 chewable calcium citrates with Vit D (I think I need to up this to 1500 daily instead of 1000 with the latest recommendations)
Iron - 325 mg taken with my 500mg vitamin C to aid absorption (remember never consume dairy products, take your multi since it has calcium or take calcium supplements, tea or coffee products within 2 hours of taking your iron) - they fight for absorption
Colace 1 daily (wow Amy 4-6 a day!! And I thought I had issues! poor girl!)
Chewable fiber tabs that are sugar free, 2 of them daily. Add fiber to my shakes too.
Synthroid - my only Rx med. If you take this take on an empty stomach 1 hour before or 2 hours after you eat and NEVER with iron.
Whew.. ok now for my stats!

I had to reinsert the nuvaring early this week. It still isn't jiving with my periods so my gyno had me skip my off week (since I started way early) again and see what happens this month.. fingers crossed the pill, the patch, the shot, the IUD, are all not options for me. So this ring has got to work! I usually see a gain the week I put it in so I am thrilled I went down this week! Here is to a good week! (i talk too much - sorry!)
