More Protein Bars!
Sorry if you are getting tired of these but I have tinkered with the recipe again and made it into Banana Protein Bars. I'm always looking for something to do with overripe bananas and now that I don't eat baked goods this is another idea for those bananas that I can actually eat. Here's the link...

Hey, I decided to recalculate this to a smaller size bar since the thing is so dense anyway...might as well get more out of the batch *and* reduce the calories at the same time. Here is the link to the update:

Oh my gosh, I AM tired...I forgot to put one of the ingredients in the list even though it is already calculated into the calories. Sheesh....please forgive me if you have even read this far. HERE is the last and final link to the corrected version. I'd better turn off the computer and get to bed.

That's a shame, Melissa! When you take Terri's basic recipe and break it down into the changeable parts you can do almost anything with it. I'm going to get some babyfood plums and try it with that too. It might come out tasting like a fig newton.
Something else I'm going to try....making it into biscotti! It is so moist straight from the pan and isn't that how biscotti is before the second baking? Why not slice the bars really thin like biscotti, double bake it and then get some sugar-free chocolate or maybe low-sugar dark chocolate and melt on a little slather of it. (just enough for a taste) That might work out! It could be a Christmas faux-cookie treat for us if it does. I'm not looking to pile my food plan full of sweets but I do want to have the option of some seasonally-appropriate foods so I don't feel deprived.

I may just risk it and try the banana.. its this latex allergy I have as a nurse. It makes me allergic to so many things, especially fruits and veggies.. here are the things I was told to stay away from - strawberries, bananas, kiwis, plums, figs, cashews, raw tomatoes, avacados ugh... its not fair. I am sure I am even missing some on the list. I have broke out to at least 1/2 of them trying.. hives on my hands (actually little blisters) eyes swell up and throat gets itchy and starts to swell (not good). Very annoying. That is why you see so little fruit on my daily eats. One yes I am a bit afraid of the carbs in them but mainly b/c bluberries and apples are about all thats left that I can eat and occasionally grapes.
I think your biscotti sounds delicious. I wanna try some other things with Terri's recipe also, but I can't think of much other stuff to make with that consistency other than applesauce.. I thought about doing that and adding some apple pieces in and some cinnamon.. hmmm gotta think. I love the pumpkin one.. so yummy. I think it will keep me content a long time I thank you for that! Maybe I will make an eggnog one for Christmas.. hmmmmmm lol. I can't wait till my syrups arrive!! So excited! Have a good rest of the weekend!
Molly,
Sorry if i overlooked it somehow....but how many calories, fat, prot, carbs does this have --The Banana sounds Fabulous..... Also where do you buy the Starbucks cinnamon Dolce stuff? i know that is a silly Question but at our starbucks my husband asked to purchase some syrup and they told him they did not sell it.
