Sad update on daughter

Terisa, I am sorry for what happened with your daughter. I have 12 yr old and worry about us down the line, because we are just alike and we fight sometimes. I just hope that someday when your daugter is older she will realize that you are a good mom to her and she will love you unconditionally. I remember being extremely rebellious at her age and not liking my mom too much. But I grew out of it quickly and realilized how much of a blessing my mother is. God bless you and your family...Erin

So sorry to hear this Terisa. I had a cousin that did this to my 1st cousin. Sue finally just made Cindy get emancipated, so that she was responsible for all her own choices. She didn't even let the parent of the friend that Cindy was staying with assume "parental rights." She just told Cindy, "you want to be an adult, not listen to anyone, and make your own choices, fine, we're filing emancipation papers, and when you decide you want to be part of the family again, and can earn my trust and respect, then you may VISIT my house. Because it's not your home, ever again." I think it tore Susan up, but in the long run, it made Cindy accountable to the law and herself for her choices. Cindy's part of the family again, but it took almost 10 years for her to run her course. She was emancipated at 17, and didn't straighten out until she was 26 or so. She's 6 months younger than me, and as kids we lived next door and did everything together. I'm still not sure who this lady is that grew up with my cousin's face. I hope you can make the choice that works for you and your family, and doesn't leave you financially responsible for anything your daughter does, until she comes around. Prayers are with you.
