Good morning, I'm posting for Melissa this morning (hope its ok), because I need to really be on the ball in the next few weeks. Melissa does a great job with this, I thought I would follow in her footsteps to get us going: First off, lets keep the the victims of 9-11-01 in our thoughts and prayers today on this 6th year anniversary! Please take a moment to say a prayer for those who lost loved ones and for everyone in the world who lost so much on this day 6 years ago. Onto the weigh-in: HW: 241 SW: 233.6 LW: 147.6 CW: 147.6 GOAL: 130 Height: 5'2 How did your eating go this week? We are on our 9th month, do you plan to have plastics? If so, what are you considering and have you set the plan in motion or do you still have more weight to lose before considering? Finally, what is 1 piece of advice that you would give to someone just starting out in this journey? Good luck to everyone and have a wonderful day! Lets make this week a good week? Good choices and staying focused.. we can do it!!! Angela

Hi Angela!! It is more than ok that you are posting the weigh-in! I am thrilled others want to do it too!!! Yeah! Yes, lets pray for those who have lost from 9/11 and those who have dedicated so much of themselves during this tragedy and those that are still fighting for our country. My eating was "ok" this week. I had some munching last week (prior to the weekend) I wasn't proud of, it was Aunt Flo's visit and she reared her ugly head some I feel but I don't want to blame there but I can feel a difference when the hormones are different that week as far as hunger is concerned.. i hate it honestly! I do plan on having plastics however we are still on the fence about children.. we know we want them but we may adopt and not try for our own or we may do one of each.. we are really talking hard core about this currently. We have some marriage therapy we are also going to (just because who couldn't use a little and we get 5 free sessions going for our 3rd today! we really like it) and she is helping us sore through some of these issues a tad... its nice. So if I have kids naturally plastics will wait a bit. One piece of advice I would give someone starting this journey.. use that first 6 months to establish good habits because as we ALL seem to be dealing with the ability to eat more, eat things that maybe didn't sit well before, have more hunger... well we better be eating right or this means more calories in. The exercise also has to occur and honestly probably more so now than ever.. to balance everything out if we are gonna make our goals. Being 9 months out things will slow down but if we can concentrate on those variables we should do fine! Thanks for awesome questions this week Angela.. here are my stats. I had a pretty good week. I got down a bit lower than my weight now.. but I am finding the closer I get to goal the more I bounce around. HW: 328 LW: 158 CW: 155.4 GW: 140

Hello Everyone! I should say... hello Skinny Minnies! Great questions today - the advice I would give - wow, there is so much. Everyone is right on target with establishing good eating habits during the first 6 months. I was told by several people in the support group meetings I attended prior to surgery that after surgery you do not want to "play" with sugar and re-introduce it back into your life. I have followed that advice, and hope that I will continue without it or ever knowing "just how much I can eat before I get sick." I have a friend who lost about 160 lbs. after weight loss surgery and around 6 months post-op she started eating sugar again - and has even gotten so bad that she gets up in the middle of the night to make cookie dough to eat. Her experience has really kept me in check and makes me think very hard about the addiction I have. Plastics - NEED THEM... (what happened to my boobs?!?!) I am like Melissa in that now my husband and I are thinking of having children so major plastics will come after that. Would still like to get my arms done before having a baby! Funny, before surgery I thought that something was wrong with me because I had no desire to be a mother - now I realize it was there all along but I was just too tired from lugging around 345 pounds of woman!!! Had a good week, started protein shakes as afternoon snack and think it jump-started weight loss again: HW/SW: 345 LW: 211 CW: 205 GW: 180-190

Hello Angela!! I would have to second what Melissa said about using the early months to set up a good eating pattern. I did not do that and I am definitely regretting it now. I think I should have done allot more research pre-op on what a good "diet" would be post-op. Luckily I found this board a couple months into post-op and have gotten great information! I only lost one pound this week, but my least favorite Aunt is visiting and I do not usually lose the week she is here or the week after so I'm not going to freak out about it. Hi Angela, this is a great place to become accountable with our love/hate relationship with food. Have you used fitday/sparkpeople to tract your food intake? You will find this very heplful since it allows you to see what you are eating in black and white. Warning--it can really scare you. My stats are as follow: SW:320 LW:200 W: 199---made it to onerderland------yeah, yeah!!!!!!!!!only 19 lbs to go.... Yes, I am planning to have plastics as soon as I can. I have developed a hernia and my surgeon told that we will be able to repair it and at the same time do the TT and that my insurance will cover most of the cost. I want to have a breas lift too, but I do not know when yet, mabye wiht the hernia repair and TT. I will see the surgeon in Jan 08 and take from there. Yes, we can make this a good week. Have a great one, Beatriz

Hi..... I have to say I am not considering plastics as my boobs keep the sun off my legs The one advice I would give someone is to NEVER put the first bite of something in your mouth as if you are like me and do not dump you will put the second bite. I do not think I posted last week as I went back and looked and could not find it. I have NO idea why but oh well.. HW-358 SW-338 LW- I will go with the lowest I have been before I keep going up and down 250 CW-249 Only 1 pd BUT 2 weeks ago I was 253 so at least I am heading the right direction!!! Hoping for a even better week this week. Thanks for posting! Diana
