Today I made progress. Our congresswoman's office called me and said that our case would be perfect for an organization in OH. It is a victim's advocacy group. I contacted them and they are very much interested in the case. I have already had a couple of conference calls with a couple of their attornys. They are contacting the police, the detectives, and the prosecutor's office to find out why they have not done anything. These attorneys will take the case and charge nothing. Right now they are completly shocked at what has gone on. Our senators office contacted me as well today. They are looking into my legislative proposals. Friday I will take one of my witnesses into the prosecutors office to verify my daughter's story. Right now things are looking better. Still a long ways to go, but well on our way to changing the law and finding justice for my daughter.

Yes, it's a long way to go but at least you are doing something about it which is a lot better than doing nothing. Keep up the good work and you will see the results soon. Beatriz

WHen I first read this post I thought "Why would this case be good for a org. like Obesity Help"...Then I reread it and thought that is what she said...then I realized you are from OHIO...I never noticed that before. I am from Cinti but now live in Columbus IN I did not realize you were a Buckeye too!!! I am glad something is being done...Hope your daughter is doing OK. Diana

I may live in the buckeye state, but wolverine blood runs though my veins. I have to be honest with you too, for a long time I kept wondering why everyone on here was talking about how great Ohio is especially since they are from other states. Finally I realized OH did not stand for Ohio. Ok, I am a dork!! LOL

WOW...that's great news! So glad that you've made such headway to protect Emily. Sounds like some butts are going to get "moving" now. I saw the two photos of Emily's injuries. Oh, my God! Please give her a (((hug))) for me. Terisa, I'm so proud of you. It takes guts, smarts, and hard work to be a changing force! Ro

Thanks Ro. Yesterday she was much worse, she was not even able to open her eyes. Today a lot of the swelling has gone down. The color is really really bad, but that will eventually go away. Hopefully soon the rest of the swelling will go down soon as well. She said her nose hurts her pretty bad still, but it is broken, it is going to hurt. Thanks for the compliment. I cannot believe that I have been able to do so much already and this only happened on Sunday.

Terisa, Thank you for the update and congratulations on making such good progress! Sounds like you are going to get somewhere with this, yeah! I will be looking forward to further updates as things get rolling with this organization. Hopefully they will help Emily heal and feel that the law really is on her side, as it should be. Molly
