MINI UPDATE: Once I realized that my next set of labs is scheduled in October, I spoke with my nutritionist's assistant about increasing my caloric intake. Basically, the quantity of protein and the amount of weight lost per month is an indicator used in determining an individual's calorie range. In my case, I've been losing steadily at an average amount; not quick losses. I think that the difference is the WLS patient who is losing more than 10-20 LB per month or a patient who has a low protein (below 50 g) daily intake. I think that those people would be candidates for the higher calorie ranges. I will find out more at my appointment, but for now the 800+ range seems acceptable, especially since I'm losing about 8 LB per month and my hair loss has slowed and new hairs are growing again. Have a good night....Ro
