Hey everyone! About the same time as my little bowel incident a couple weeks ago I noticed that I can, more than ever, feel the resistance my pouch gives me. I mean all along I could feel it but now I mean I REALLY feel it.. is it because the nerves have finally regenerated? I almost feel like I eat the same amounts sometimes as when I was 3-5 months out. It's an odd but awesome thing I suppose.. anyone else know what I am talking about or am I just odd and a late bloomer with this. Before Id measure and I woudn't always get slightly full or satisfied feeling.. now I just know that "one more bite" syndrome and i will be hurting kind of thing.. I get that now and I am really not eating more at all. weird......

Melissa, I healed really fast (hence the strictures, I think) and have felt that from quite early on. But then, too, I have had a pouch since '99 and know the feeling well so I recongized it as soon as it returned. You are right, it is an amazing awesome thing. When I had my special K cereal today I knew that I couldn't get in the last tablespoon of it so I just poured it out. Pretty cool!

Honestly Molly, I had worried of a stretched pouch b/c I would get full.. but not like this. I mean Id feel like "Ok I had enough but not really that, if I have one more bite I will spew" feeling.. now I so have that. I think im a really late bloomer with that. Argh! But I am glad its there nonetheless.. but its like I am having to relearn my pouch all over again kinda. strange strange..

...and all this coincides with the change in your diet too. Makes ya go 'hmmm'. Your little pouchie may have been just waiting for you to increase your fiber.

ooooh....another interesting phenomenon?? I thought it was because of the pregnancy. OOOhhh...this makes me so happy. Uh...sort of.

It looks like I am the late bloomer. Sometimes I even doubt if they really changed my inside. I have never felt full, never felt hunger. Sometimes I eat like a horse, sometimes I eat a liitle bit and never get hungry, never feel anything different. The only thing which tells me I had this surgery is the scars and the weight loss. Am I the only one to feel like that?

I'm with you on this one, at least partly. I hardly ever feel full, but I feel hungry quite often. Hopefully I'll get the full sensation soon, like the others on here.

Hi Melissa, I am kind all over the place with this. I sometimes eat 3 oz and I am done, sometimes 6 oz. I was eating 8 oz and felt like I was eating too much and was worried about stretching too. I still throw up though, My stoma is pretty tight, I had 2 strictures fixed and was told they can come back. So I stop 2 ways either the food gets stuck and I stop eating (happens maybe 2-3 times a week) or I feel like I've had enough. When I weigh my food like 6 oz and neither of those things happen I sometimes feel full, sometimes not. It's wierd I have different sensations, that's why I really try and weigh my food as to not get out of control. Talk to you soon...Erin
