I am going to have a good non-stressful day with my daughter. 2. I am going to eat at least 2 meals today. 3. I will consume at least 500 calories and 40 protein. 4. I will go shopping and buy some new size 10 pants!! Woo Hoo! 5. I am going to enjoy the beautiful sunshine 6. I am going to pick my son up from his dad's and give him a big hug. (I have not seen him in 2 weeks) 7. I will thank God for all the wonderful blessings in my life and pray for all WSL patients, any suffering from obesity, and especially my Dec family. ********************************* SATURDAY GOALS Today I am not going to list a lot. Again I am going to try to eat 2 meals and consume at least 500 calories. This is my biggest goal!! I am also going to get outside and enjoy the sunshine today and spend most of the day outside. I am going to be in a great mood and feel happy and play with my toddlers today. I hope everyone has a wonderful day today!!! ~ Terisa *********************************

Good goals today Terisa and I know you can meet them! Reach for the stars girlie! I will play alone! I am always up almost 24 hours on Saturday to Sunday so I have to watch the cals some although I do let myself hit a 1000 on Saturdays b/c I am up so long and I have done this forever and still lost weight just fine! 1 - I will not get all freaked out when I enjoy the apple I packed in my lunch sack at work tonight. (I tend to freak out even over good carbs for those that don't know me.. working on that). 2 - I will maintain a positive attitude at work, I usually do very well with this anyhow but its a something I always tell myself before the weekend starts! 3 - I will get ready early enough that I can take my 8 month pics to celebrate my 8 month anniversary today!! I will post them before I leave for work (hopefully). I lost 10 lbs this month.. which for being this far out, I am thrilled with. My doc reassured me on my 6 month appointment that it will slow down and so far it hasn't but I am sure now being in the 160's it will... Molly how was it for you once you reached the 160's to goal weight? Everyone have a beautiful day today!

When you get back from work and eventually read this... Your 10 pounds is awesome this month! I was told the same thing at the 6 month appt (wt loss slowing down). Here I was all mentally prepared for plateaus from hell and they never showed. Lucky! Honestly, the only record I have of my weight loss is over at the tickerfactory.com. It isn't even written down anywhere here in my house on a calendar or even a scrap of paper. All I focused on was making sure that from week to week the numbers kept getting smaller and so long as they did it didn't matter to me whether it was just a fraction of a pound or several. It is funny, people are always telling me now that I've lost enough and I'd better stop. Or they ask how the doctor gets me to stop losing weight or is it going to be dangerous. Etc, etc. I just smile and tell them that I never got to the point of needing wls because of not being a good eater and all I have to do is eat a little more and the weight loss stops. Am not telling them that I'm still watching my calories but when they comment that I look smaller I say it is because I'm exercising and toning. (I'm trying to tone, that's for sure!) Molly

Hi, Everyone! My goal for today is to introduce myself to you (finally) LOL I had my surgery on 12/6/07 and will update on my weight loss on my "8th month anniversary". I have been using the nutrition journal on SparkPeople, which motivated me to contact the December gals (and guys?). I recently returned to measuring what I am eating...using 4 oz Ball jars...most of the time. I eat a lot of vegetables in 1 oz / 2 oz amounts...still working on the "chicken" --- dryness problem. I've been taking 1 oz (15 g protein / 3X daily) Prostat-64 (butter pecan) so that I can concentrate on eating a range of foods. I was surprised to learn that the "butt" ache is pretty much the norm here. I thought that I was alone on that one. Congratulations to all the Losers! -- Ro

Hi and Welcome Ro! We are happy to have you join us and finally say hi. You and I share the same surgery date. How are you feeling in general? It sounds liike you are doing well as far as food. I know some people always have a problem with chicken. My sister had the surgery over 4 years ago and still cannot eat chicken. I have no problems with it. Yeah, the butt ache is quite common!! Not too much fun, but worth the weight loss. I look forward to hearing from you more often and updating us on your weight loss. Take care ~ Terisa

Hi, Terisa...Thanks for asking...I feel great about losing the weight and being able to finally wear current looking clothing (size: 1X) this summer. I had been taking Tarka for my blood pressure pre-surgery and my potassium level was too low. I've been taking potassium since then and I'm in the "low normal" range now...so I have to continue 2 pills daily until my lab recheck in September. As for other supplements, I have added Biotin, Vit. A, and Vit. D. Vit. C was added in May. I am happy with the results and care given by my nutritionist. Recently, I started taking my calcium separate from the vitamins. I read somewhere that calcium can "bind" or inhibit the absorption of the other supplements. I figure that it can't hurt to do it this way...just in case. My energy level seems better since the weight loss, but my sleeping is "off". Is this typical? Have a good night... Ro

Ro, You are right about the calcium. It does need to be taken seperate. I am glad you are doing your homework! It feels good to wear in style and younger clothes doesnt it? I could never figure out why they think all obese women want to wear shirts with bears and birdhouses on it?!!?!? ~ Terisa
