What did ya eat today - Saturday
I've got a few things here I don't know how to count so my totals won't be accurate. Any ideas?
1) frosty protein shake
2) mock pb&J (rice cake, 1 T soynut butter, 1 T sf jam)
3) 2 turkey/cheese rollups, 1 cup watermelon
4) 100 cal mini bag popcorn
5) sf fudgesicle, fresh mushrooms in 1 T lite ranch dressing
6) kebobs for dinner...one kebob of three slices zucchini, 2 mushrooms, a few slices of red onion and three slices of turkey polish sausage (no idea how many ounces the sausage was and how to count those small amounts of veggies!)
7) 1/2 cup Mice Cream (again...no idea how to count this)
8) 1 oz. whole grain dorito-style chips from Wal-Mart (don't buy these, they are yummy!)
If I take a wild guess and say the kebob was 100 cal then that makes my numbers something like this:
977 cal, 70 carbs (watermelon and those chips), 24 g. fat, 92 g. prot.
This is without the Mice Cream so the calories are actually higher and the prot. as well. ???
How did you folks do today? What good stuff did you eat?
Well the weekend I always get messed up
Bfast - 2 bites eggs, 2 oz ham, 1/2 biscuit w/gravy (darn crackerbarrell)
snack - 3oz dried mango(my absolute favorite)
lunch - 2 hotwings, topping of a cheese/mushroom pizza
snack - 3 bites of my mothers bday cake
dinner - 8 bites of chicken breast(threw up half of it due to getting stuck, this still happens to me even after 2 strictures are fixed, I guess it just the way my stoma is)
and 1 yoplait raspberry yogurt
Erin, have you tried eating chicken breast with something to dip it into? My fav. is no-fat or light ranch dressing, but ff blue cheese dressing is yummy too. Also good is a low-cal barbecue sauce and also salsa. It seems to help keep those chicken protein fibers from wanting to reconnect back together once they get down in the pouch.
I vowed that with this surgery there was no way that chicken and lean meats were going to get the best of me and so far I am winning, not them! Red meats, they are another story...

PS--it is the weekend and as far as I'm concerned that means egg time! Anyway, that's what I tell my husband when I'm trying to get him to not eat so many eggs during the week. He's got terribly high cholesterol but doesn't seem the least bit concerned about the types of fats in his diet. Sheesh!
