Let the whining/complaining begin!

I can't sleep. I lay awake at night, tired as can me, and cannot sleep. I finally start dozing at 5am and am usually awake by 7-8am. I feel like I'm losing my mind. Part of it is because I get too hot. Right now, it is 66 degrees in my house and is STILL NOT cool enough for me to sleep...I wake in a sweat. Good grief, I do hope this is a quicky passing thing. Oh yeah, and I cannot stomach most foods. They make me nauseated. The only things that sit well is watermelon, grapes and cucumbers. Other things I've wanted to eat to be easy on my stomach is baked potato, french fries, potato soup (are you seeing a pattern here??) Though I've not yet eaten those. I'm so glad to be seeing my surgeon on Monday and I'm hoping he'll tell me I can drink all my protein and just eat veggies and fruit. An occasional baked potato would be nice too. Thanks for listening to me whine. Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Sounds like you have plenty to whine about already so go right ahead and fire it up whenever. Are you able to nap during the day anytime? I hope you will be able to find the time because you've got to get caught up on your rest. Although, the being too hot thing is certainly interesting for someone who has lost so much bodyfat already! You are giving us all interesting lessons on post-op pregnancy. You've got a lot to deal with, hang in there!!! Glad you get to see your surgeon soon, I hope that he'll help you with dietary ideas that will settle well on your tummy. Hugs! Molly

I am able to nap normally during the day...just not for very long. I'm hoping this is all temporary and I'll find my sleep somewhere. I start babysitting for a friend full time on Monday so this should be interesting. I'm thinking of telling her that I'll do it only temporarily though and ask if she'll find someone else. Her baby just turned 1 and they're ALL over the place. Thanks for the hugs, I can't ever have too many. By the way, "Molly" is on our top 3 for girls names. Thanks again, Shawn

But of course it is!!! Eliza is the third. But we ALL know that I'm a boys only carrier. My entire family is rooting for a girl...I'm doomed!!

Babysitting a 1 year old, yikes! It's an absolutely adorable age but it does require so much energy. Your idea of telling her it is temporary is very good. So if this pregnancy is running different from the others maybe your all-boy streak will be broken! Girls are so much more fun to dress than boys, sorry. I had one of each and would have loved another girl had my husband not 'shut down the factory' for me. Girls are SOOO much easier to toilet train too. Sheesh... That brings back a 'flood' of memories. Molly is an easier name to live with these days than when I was little. I was 17 years old before I ever met another Molly and I grew up in a good-sized town too. Back then you only saw the name in reference to an Irish barmaid, an old maid, a mule or cow on tv. And there aren't very many racks of personalized products with Molly on them still. That always bugged me as a kid...my friends would have pencils and rulers with their names printed (you know, the Janets and Susans of the world) but I never found any junk with my name on it. To this day, I'm a sucker for garbage like that if I see my name on it. Ah, the sad little inner child... LOL! Have a good day, little mommy! Molly

I have to tell you that your trip down memory lane with the preprinted, personalized items brought back memories for me as well. We were in the same boat and have the same sad inner child. Shawn...not too many things printed up with that name. Tons of boy stuff with Sean on it...but no girlie Shawn stuff. As far as boys vs. girls, I have no idea, I've just had boys and mine are pretty easy so far. I didn't have too much difficulty potty training, just that they did it later...3 years old I think before fully trained. Hope your day is great!! Shawn

I feel you. I was a Heather in 1973.. didn't meet my first OTHER Heather until 1987. And forget any of the preprinted stuff having my name on it.

I don't blame you for whining. I had both my kids pre-op, but I rember how hot it was at the beginning. Have you tried putting a box fan pointed directly at you? It worked for me and the white noise helped me sleep better. Just a suggestion.

Yep...fan right on me. I'm a light sleeper so the noise is actually distracting for me. I honestly don't remember being this warm with the others, but then again, it was summer so I probably hadn't noticed. Thanks for the suggestions...I'll take anything at this point. I'm even considering putting a bag of frozen veggies in bed with me.
