Finally off insulin !!!!!!!

After lots of years I was finally taken off my shots... I am so excited one reason mainly Chances of still being on insulin after 2 months of surgery usually means you will have to continue .......... So i feel so good 7 months post op I beat that damn myth.. Thanks for reading my post.. Anita

Anita, what wonderful news!!! At each of our last local support group meetings we have begun with the topic of the latest hot research proving that RNY puts diabetes in remission by virtue of the very nature of the surgery and what it does to our digestion. It is so fascinating to hear stats about the recovery rates and makes me so hopeful for the future of our surgery and blasted insurance companies. They can't deny this any longer for diabetics who will benefit so tremendously. Woohoo, good for you being off your shots!!! Congratulations!!! Molly

Hi Anita... YES YES YES! I am so happy and proud of you! You conquered the diabetes demon! I also had it preop, newly diagnosed on pills, came off day of surgery.... amazing that it was.. I was still in shock that it could do that for me! I have said it over and over again.. the weight loss is a bonus.. the health benefits, especially the diabetes for me.. its EVERYTHING! Way to go!
