Hello all. Well here I am crazed because I have noticed I seem to be feeling hungry more often now. It scares me to death. Has anybody found anything that really holds them over well? I still seem to be losing, however it is slowing down and it really does scare me. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

are you drinking all your water? make sure you are and it should help with the hunger.

Hi Maghan! I hvent really had cravings but was getting the munchies alot, didnt want anything in particular - just wanted to eat. So, really, I was not hungry I was just bored or sitting at my desk wanting to eat something instead of doing work! Now I drink something more than jus****er - like decaf tee or protein hot chocolate or a protein juice drink - that seems to really help me. JUst a suggestion! Rebecca

Maghan, from the literature my surgeon gave me this is completely normal at our stage. I had marked my calendar when we hit the six month mark that I must remember to be aware of returning hunger and cravings. Well, the hunger came back for me right after surgery but those cravings got much more intense at six months and haven't let up. What seems to work best for me personally is to limit my carbs and increase my proteins and it helps tone down the cravings. (that and increasing my fluids, too) I notice that if I give in and use sugar free products like fudgesicles or fruit 'n juice-type bars then I just want more of them. Are you still using an online food journal to track your daily calories and nutritional needs? It really helps keep everything in perspective. I log into Sparkpeople.com at least three times a day and it really keeps my allotments fresh in my mind so I can mentally budget for what is ahead. Today I'm already at 748 calories and have completely met my protein goals so I know that I need to eat more veggies the rest of the day than protein. So whatever I may crave I know that it has to fall within the rest of my calorie budget. Does that help any? Or even make any sense??? Molly

Oops, I thought that 748 sounded too high but until I typed that out I didnt' really look at my food list well enough. I entered my Kashi wrong and my actual tally for right now is 555. That's quite a bit more like it!

When I get the munchies, I look to see if I've met my water and protein for the day. If not, it's beef jerky time. I notice it takes a long time for that to settle in, so I stay full a long time. Well, I'm off to get my uniforms pressed, and work on making tuna salad and hubby some dirty rice to eat with his steamed zucchini. Tuna is for me for work
